Tony G, Drummy, and French Horn Rebellion reimagine Haruka Salt & Tongji’s ‘Everything We Love Will Fade in Time’ EP this September on toucan sounds.

Following Haruka Salt and Tongji’s original EP earlier this year, which picked up support from the likes of Carista, Elena Colombi, Cromby, Ciel, and more, Brooklyn imprint toucan sounds ready a heavy-hitting remix package featuring reinterpretations from French Horn Rebellion, Drummy, and Tony G.

Breathing new life into the original EP, toucan sounds team up with the Sorry Records crew to deliver a family affair featuring some of New Yorks most exciting talents. Leading the release, label boss French Horn Rebellion, via their singer Robert PM, turns in an emotive vocal performance over the original track, utilising dense reverbs to match the dynamic arrangement.

Following is Drummy’s take on ‘Never Satisfaction’, which sees the NYC-based DJ/producer flip the track into a tripped out breakbeat jam complete with flanging FX, dubbed-out vocal hits, and pumping low end. Rounding out the release, Sorry Records honcho Tony G turns in a banging house remix of ‘Scrabble’, reaching for snaking acid lines, snappy drum hits, and dense chords.

Kilometro 4.5 continues the crews mission to create a home for their electronic music idols, both stalwarts and emerging, and so their first outing comes in the form of a VA gathering pioneering producers from around the world. The singular productions come from Boss Musik's Dorisburg, Circle of Live member Sebastian Mullaert, Wareika and our pick from Compost Records' Kalabrese, who delivers a rolling analogue groove.

New Born is a group of four Italian immigrants who all lived in the area around Ulm/Bavaria. Primarily they sang more Italian songs and were more on the traditional side of Italian music. This record is a perfect example of what can happen when the drummer says “Let´s jam” to the musicians. The outstanding track “Galaxy” came out, the vibe of it is like an early piano house track and a hybrid of cosmic and disco. 

The original copy of the record is nowadays a highly requested collector´s item, that skyrocketed in terms of prices. Originally released as a 45 single in 1981 the record was pressed in a very small run. Try to find a unicorn it’s easier.

SchatziMusik decided not to do only a simple reissue of it, they asked the creme de la creme of cosmic disco to make us a new born version of the track “Galaxy”. Camp Cosmic aficionados Albion & Alexander Arpeggio are responsible for two mesmerizing versions of this song. On top, we pressed the whole record as a 12″ from the original master tapes.

‘Floppy Computer’ is the newest set of future-gazing grooves from Periodica Records and label partner Raffaele “Whodamanny” Arcella rescuing and restoring forgotten tape compositions from a legendary Italian pop producer using the pseudonym Nico Mecca. Produced during the years 1979-1985 using cutting edge home recording techniques and the latest synthesizer. The productions across the works are incredibly forward-thinking for that time with inspirations and track titles refering to hypermodern tech and a proto-cyberpunk soundworld and progressive rock and experimental electronic music that features novel combinations of mediterranean boogie, robotic funk, sci-fi balearic, hypnagogic pop and astrotribal jazz. The discovery of the ‘Floppy Computer’ project is dictated by destiny and a strong cosmic interference as not only were these tracks produced by Mecca during his 30s, they were discovered 30 years later by Raffaele Whodamanny, who is also in his 30s– facts that give the project a mystical and numerological significance, since this number and age represent a divine midpoint between youthful enthusiasm and the wisdom of experience. Amazing record with both historical as creative value!
