Our first premiere of the week comes from Dublin based producer Son Orbis who returns to Four Four with a fresh edit of UK house don Eliphino.

Jack Fleming aka Son Orbis gifts us with a free download following on from his release with Scottish label Milk It Sounds as well as a Jam & Spoon edit which was featured on Soundspace. Son Orbis has recently received great support from 1-800 Girls and Joris Vroon so we expect DJ’s to playing this new edit on repeat.

The Dublin based producer has put his break fuelled stamp on the original track which is a sure fire party starter.

Fly By Night kick off 2022’s proceedings with Departure, the second V/A from the label, as FBN010. Departure reflects the full spectrum of the ever-changing UK music sphere, exploring the depths of leftfield dance music, whilst remaining distinctly club-focussed.
FBN010 sees the return of some familiar faces to the label, alongside some exciting fresh faces. Broadly spanning system-rattling, breaks-infused, vocal-stuttering tracks, Departure sets the tone for the year ahead.
All profits raised from FBN010 will go towards UK-based charity Sister Supporter. Sister Supporter is a pro-choice, anti-harassment organisation, who are working towards achieving a national solution to allow those who wish to exercise their legal right to healthcare to do so without interference and judgement. Banoffee Pies Records, in its eighth year of operating, hit the 20th release milestone in their Original Series. Joining the roster, Cairo based producer Hassan Abou Alam steps up with a 4 track solo EP entitled “Fasla”. A decisive selection of attitude packed wormhole bass lines and dark basement jams.

The A side was produced in a special collaboration with local artist SHBL-LBSH who’s vocal works feature across “Kesibt” + “Fasla”. The B side delivers sharp cutting synth lines in “Mawkif” and breakneck low end rumbles in “Hanshoof”. After a series of works on the likes of Naive, Not For Profit and Rhythm Section, Hassan fittingly joins the Berlin based, Bristol born label with more boundless sounds that slice through the fabric of styles that BPR have fostered since inception. First solo EP on 3 Feet Deep is by Pépé Elle: 4 original tracks showing all his versatility and unique universe and a techno remix from Bailey Ibbs to transcend it all. 


The 3 A-side’s tracks smoothly transition from UKG to Breaks and Electro while all having the energetic signature of Pépé: witty 2-step drums and weighty bassline all the way through.

B-side kicks off with EP title track ”Contradiction”, a break electro anthem filled with demoniac vocals and sighing angelic synths setting one very rare electric atmosphere - beware of the final drop !

Finally, Bailey Ibbs remixes ”A3 Twisted” for an effective dub techno club tool detonating with bouncing drums and raw tension.

Not sure why the debut solo EP by DJ FUCKS HIMSELF is called Weisse Weste, which is a German metaphor for having a clear conscience, being very innocent. Cause Fucks for sure goes deep down and dirty with this one. Sensual pitched up vocals meet nasty drums and by wisely using just the right amount of Dub effects he gives this track a very organic vibe while keeping it sharp enough to shave the rave.
