Every now and then DANIEL PORTMAN sends us demo tracks and ideas he struggles with to finish and sometimes there are hidden gems among those unfinished sketches. Also ENDORPHINE happened to be one of those raw diamonds and we urged Daniel to give it another shot and finish the beautiful track, which he eventually did. We are very proud to introduce you to this absolutely gorgeous piece of modern house music. A track that can't be compared with any other current house track on the market.
After signing this track to our label, we sat down with Daniel and talked him into producing a few more tracks in that musical direction. So now we are able to happily announce that there will be more new music to come by this legendary artist on our label. Stay enormous tuned! This is just the beginning.

Shades Of Dawn

Waves of Light is track one on my new Light & Shade EP.

I started this track years ago, in a style that is maybe a bit different to my usual, and I kept leaving it, coming back to it, re-working, and dithering. Eventually I finished it in 2024. Then I played it to @Lumdidelic, who came up with a lovely extra synth line, which gave it a much-needed lift.  And here it is...

Silk Textures proudly welcomes acclaimed Dutch house artist Nick Hogendoorn for its 35th release. With countless classics to his name, including numerous collaborations with long-standing collaborative partner Eelke Kleijn, Nick is a an especially exciting addition to our label roster. His latest masterpiece, "Science," is presented here, along with new remixes by three fellow veteran stars: Shingo Nakamura, Espen, and Adam Byrd.

Nick's "Original Mix" beings with a subterranean soundscape, as cavernous pads and bass evoke the vision of an after-hours 'science' experiment, deep in the Hogendoorn laboratory. A variety of cave-like rhythmic effects enhance the soundscape, as the bass and pads slowly crescendo. In the main break, the "mad" scientist speaks: it's a haunting and deeply emotive monologue, which creates a memorable centerpiece for the track.
