1998 was not only one of the best years in electronic dance music, a time of superstars and massive hits topping charts worldwide, but it was also the year of beginnings. It was the year a young man, Austin Ward, forged of an early music background, ran for his first set of turntables and didn't look back. That day Austin, now known as Ghenji, was set on an undeniable trajectory that landed him decks first in front of countless dance floors filled with hungry club goers ready to move. Ghenji rocked his early audiences with a funky mix of Florida breaks, but eventually found that his passions resided with house music. House became his life, his obsession, and one that hasn't waned with time. To this day, Ghenji meticulously curates his sets sifting through hot classics and future hits, in order to work his floors into soul rendering sweats. He is also one half of Strut, a roving gem of the Southeastern United States house music scene.

Born and raised in France in the early 80’s, Charles rapidly realized that he was highly receptive to all kinds of music. Things really became serious during his high school years when mainstream hits like “Armand Van Helden - You don’t know me –” and French touch bangers like “Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You” became available to the masses, making an impression to his young uneducated ears. Needless to say, those tracks were a complete shocker and made him start his own musical revolution. Crate digging became a weekly ritual as soon as he managed to get his first turntables and mixer setup. The first vinyl he bought was a Soma compilation—a complete game changer and the first bricks added to his own musical world. Exploring the underground was (and still is) the exciting part of the game!

Growing up in the Parisian suburbs, his track selection has always been heavily influenced by soul, funk, hip hop culture, groovy melodies and more recently a deeper minimal house flavour. Listen to his DJ sets carefully and you might hear heavy beats dropped “chirp scratch style”.
Now spending most of his time between Toronto and Montreal, Charles is always on the move to share his music with people and making new connections. He recently got into production, learning the job slowly but surely... keep your ears open fellas!
