If you know even one Scottish band, chances are it's The Proclaimers. "500 Miles" is famous as an easy singalong number in most regions where a Scottish accent can be understood (and slightly less famous as the being one of the few songs capable of shutting up crying infants in my family). This track is from their largely acoustic album "This Is The Story", which by the way I highly recommend. Between this song, "Throw The R Away", "Letter From America" and "Burn Your Playhouse Down" it's definitely my favourite Proclaimers album.
