Digital Dreams Are Made of This Mix

I was so inspired by Howard Scarr's latest patches for the virtual modular synth Bazille, that I decided to write some music with it. It's not surprising really, as this happens regularly when I start to explore Howard's stellar work! All the parts are Bazille, except for a couple of Logic drum loops.

I was so excited when I read about the update to the venerable Oddity, which I loved from day one. I have much respect for Dave Spiers' work, and had a lot of fun writing this little piece, loosely based on the Rosetta comet's arrival in our world.

Driving through Vermont recently, I was reminded of how beautiful its hills and forests are. I thought I would try to channel these feelings into this short demo of the wonderful Oddity 2.

I have been lucky enough to have a Matrix 12 in the studio for a long while in the past, and I loved it. I'm also growing to love this virtual version, especially when some choice FX are thrown in the mix. I felt a bit nostalgic with this piece, back to the futuristic TV shows of my youth.
