Coping behaviours that we learn as children to meet unmet childhood needs are the very behaviours that BLOCK our deepest desires from being met within our romantic relationships.

These behaviours are what I call “Protective Patterns” or “Patterns of Protection”.  And this is hold they tend to unfold: 

You have a deep yearning for more of something in your romantic relationships…Like feeling seen & heard, more freedom, being held, being cherished, being known, more softness, more respect etc etc…

And no matter how much you try to change the situation OR to change your partner, your deepest desires are STILL not being met. So, you grow increasingly more frustrated & resentful. Even when you literally replace your partner for someone else. 

Why does this happen? It’s because of your patterns of protection.
