Fahrland ft. Cherokee 'All That I Need ft. Cherokee (Dave DK Remix)'

Cologne based producer Fahrland, formerly known under his Geiger moniker, had his comeback in 2018 with 'Mixtape Vol. 1' on Kompakt before he released his album 'Oneness' in January of this year. As 2019 comes to an end three tracks from 'Oneness', including the title track, get the remix treatment and are released on Pachanga Boys' Hippie Dance label. Of course, Superpitcher, one part of Pachange Boys, provides a remix so does Fahrland as the LP's title track comes in a new livery. Lastly Berliner and Pampa-mainstay Dave DK take on 'All That I Need' and delivers a piece of music that simply earns the word 'beautiful'. Known for dedicating himself to deeper chords Dave DK manages, as he usually does, to implement Cherokee's vocal not only smoothly but perfectly to his sound-landscape and delivers a track that certainly has a pop-ish touch but due to its tempo is one of these tunes that either adds an emotional note or a beautiful melancholia to any set.

Fahrland's EP 'Oneness Remixes' will be released on Hippie Dance on December 6th, 2019.

Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles announces details of his highly anticipated new album 'Articulation', out on July 31. Pr-order is on LP & DL: https://idol.lnk.to/articulation

Lead track and album centrepiece 'Articulation' links the record back to the analogue fluidity and colour of 2016’s 'Night Melody'. The division of varying time signatures, intertwined with a complex structure of notes, creates an expression of a moving structure and conjures a dreamy, motorik energy. Ryan Lee West explains, "The title track is about articulation and playfulness with shape and time. Its structure is very machine-like, but I was really interested in how melody and sense of story could develop out of this, and it became an exploration of mathematical structures — patterns and shapes having a conversation. I love that something on paper can appear rigid and calculated, but then take on new meaning based on the context that surrounds it, or how it changes over time."

'Articulation', which follows 2018’s 'Persona', was conceived with a very visual way of thinking, unusual for the London musician and producer. During the writing process Ryan drew structures, shapes and patterns by hand to try and find new ways of thinking about music, giving himself a way to problem-solve away from the computer. The album title references a piece by the avant-garde contemporary composer Györgi Ligeti, though not for its music, but for the non-traditional graphic score that accompanied it.

“I find electronic music is often battling to say something with integrity because technology and production can easily get in the way. I think the goal of a lot of electronic composers is to find a balance between the vision of the idea and the power of possibilities on the computer. With a pen and paper sketch you can compose and rethink ideas without technology getting in the way, so for me it acts as a very helpful tool to refresh the process.” — Ryan Lee West

Since the release of 'Persona', Ryan Lee West has taken his captivating live A/V set to all corners of the world. Last seen live on stage with 17 players of the London Contemporary Orchestra for a sold-out orchestral performance at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in January 2020.

Meanwhile Ryan has kept busy. After contributing an exclusive track 'Them Is Us' to Adult Swim’s coveted Singles series, he recently shared the beautifully textured solo piano piece 'Winter’s Lament' on this year’s Piano Day. He has also been in high demand as a composer, scoring Charlie Brooker’s much talked about Black Mirror episode Striking Vipers, composing original music for Secret Cinema presents Stranger Things as well as renowned choreographer Alexander’s Whitley’s groundbreaking new work Overflow which was set to premiere at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre this spring.

Rival Consoles - Articulation

"This is a song I created late at night, I wanted to make something full of momentum and mood.

The bird song that appears at the beginning of the piece was actually a very late idea in the creating process. My studio is surrounded by a lot of trees and there is always bird song, which I love but normally don’t consider wanting to use in my music. However one day when I was working on the piece, I kept noticing that the birds, were singing perfectly in tune with the song, so much so that it sounded like one of the little melodies that appears at the end of the song. I quickly recorded it on my phone and it just felt right in the music. I think it grounds the song and also plays with the idea that at the beginning of the piece is bird song, and at the end of the piece is a kind of electronic bird song. 

The end is something I have been longing to make for a long time, which is the closest I have gotten to synths coming in and out of picture like choreography, the synths are having a conversation, and it’s very fluid. The mood of the piece to me, is a kind of bittersweet blend of hope and nostalgia." — Ryan Lee West

Etienne aka "Letienne", coming from a family of musicians , has been in contact with music since the very beginning of his life.
After a few years of studying piano he discovers a strong connection to the Guitar. In his teenage years was involved in many bands, playing different kind of styles, from funky to rock-punk to classic to folk. He first discover Techno music wenn he moved to Germany at the age of 19.
From then a hole new world opened for him, and been fascinated from it focused on the production of electronic music. Although he could never detach him self from the guitar, which is still very present in his nowadays production and in his band project "NOUS" where he collaborates with Koelle.
