For this track I used a Processing GIF created by Abstrcat/Juneray ( www.abstrcat.tumblr.com / https://soundcloud.com/juneray ). I then sent my song to them and they made a delicious ambient track with it which you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/juneray/rawvariantwavjuneray

They then sent it back to me and I performed a new sound modification technique I've developed which I've been calling "planar shifting". I convert the song back .raw image files and batch convert them by opening them as planar or interleaved .raw files and saving them as the opposite. What you're hearing is this effect with no other modification made.

Greetings trans-dimensional entities!

As you all can plainly see, a small rift has formed between this dimension, and an unknown location, namely the hidden audio laboratory of visionary glitch wizard, Jim Kimchi. Upon closer inspection, the rift was emanating something that must be music, but it was of such an advanced nature that it was unlike anything this terrestrial world has ever heard.

Jim Kimchi opens the door to a new dimension in glitch music with his Pure Gravy ep. One rife with intentional errors, programmed collapses, and crumbling structures set amidst dissolving holograms. A world in a perpetual state of disintegration, shown to you through many different lenses and angles. Each track seems built from impossibly complex structures, forever locked in a cannibalistic dance of consuming itself to make itself.

Prompt: Scale

A collaborative track done with musician/artist Aversion To Reality, and essentially a remix of track by the same name. The individual stems are separated in a theoretical 3D space and panned and spaced directionally to give the aural appearance of being a 3D live space. Sounds should jump from ear to ear, move around the listener's head, and "appear" to wash over the user, especially in the lower ranges. This type of ambisonic mixing works well to give the listener a sense of audible scale and feel as if in a large or strange space. Headphones or surround sound/multi-channel speakers necessary to hear the full effects.  

This was done for the Year In Studies project hosted by artists Quinn Taylor and Marie Raupp.
