Systematic Soul EP

DumitrEscu, a Romanian DJ based in London who previously released EPs, among other names, on Priku’s Atipic Records, is the latest name to grace de Particular project.

His style blends in perfectly with Particular vision and you can hear this from the first track. The mesmerizing background noises are in sync with some lovely but haunting atmospheric sounds that accompany a powerful bassline to drive away the listener into a state of perfect bliss. 

On the second track, which is fittingly called Mezmerizing Soul, DumitrEscu shows off some impressive skills in building a track that can’t really be described as a club banger, but rather a perfect afterhours jam that will hypnotize listeners on the dancefloor. 

Next up is Synthesia, a wonderful but pragmatic track which slowly but surely evolves into a lovely tune that is carefully constructed by the author. The end result is a superbly complex exploration into DumitrEscu’s creative mindset. Daniel Broesecke’s remix adds just the right touch for it to be blasted through the dancefloor so that people can get their feet moving.

French producers Abè and Lowris join forces in their collaborative project Labello, crafting Rotate's eighth release. Acid notes and an infectious bass bring warm vibes from rolling memories on the dancefloor.

Jochem Hamerling has been immersed in music all his life and was so taken with House music that he moved from his native Netherlands to Chicago at age 17, taking inspiration from the likes of Derrick Carter and Paul Johnson. Since then, the Dutch talent has established himself as a skilled producer with an impressive back catalogue on labels like Be One, Armada, and CR2 Records, as well as a tastemaking DJ through his weekly Boom Room show on SLAM! Radio. Following a string of singles for Junior Jack’s Adesso Music, Hamerling returns with an expansive four-tracker channelling inspiration from the Scottish whisky regions.

The fantastic 'Speyside' kicks off with slinky and stripped-back deep house beats that are brought to life with twirling keys and warming synths that rise and fall to brain-soothing effect. The deep and dusty 'Islay' then comes on with heavier kicks and plunging bass that drives down low beneath hooky vocal stabs and airy hi-hats which will prove irresistible to dancers. 'Highlands' is another majestic track lit up with deft synths - some rise up through the mix, some are balmy cosmic smears, and all of them bring rueful emotions that really hook you in next to the wordless vocal coos. Last of all is 'Lowlands', which has a more gritty edge thanks to the raw hi-hats and chunky tech drums. It's another bass-heavy cut that is tipped with Spanish vocals that bring fresh summer heat.
