I've been feeling overstimulated by the world and life lately. I found myself craving and fixating on ambient music since Ecobeat, especially since the moment I heard James Bangura and Jackson Ryland's ambient set through the trees. Something about that moment in the magical weekend unlocked something in me. So, I decided to make my first ambient set. This was a fun reminder of some of the performances I saw at Moogfest years ago including Laraaji, Suzanne Ciani, Laurie Anderson, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Julia Holter and Julianna Barwick. Some songs might not be ambient per se, which is why it's called Ambienty. Hope you enjoy as much as I did making this. I feel much more unwound now <3

Ambienty

This is a mix made with records that were generously gifted by DJ Associate (Adam) along with a rolly record bag. Yay! It was a fun exercise to get acquainted with the records by putting them in a mix - and for records that I didn’t know at all, I’m pretty pleased (despite some lil clunky bits) with how the mix came out - prob helps that Adam is a v experienced and knowledgeable selector. I was especially delighted by the Marco Shuttle EP - perfectly textured spooky szn music. 

The DC DJ community is so sweet and special; I’m delighted to be a part of it. Enjoy!
