Recorded live at Ecstatic Dance Zürich weekly Fridays on July 1, 2022, during my first few hours in Switzerland ever!

It was a long journey to get there and I arrived just hours before the dance began. 

After taking a couple of weeks to explore the UK and recording 3 online Astrology trainings, I thought it would be easy to book a direct flight to Zurich from Brighton. Though I was very wrong.

I ended up having to wake up with only a couple of hours of light sleep to catch a 4:30 am bus to the further away airport. It was raining so I had to catch a taxi to the bus station. Once I got to Heathrow it was the longest waiting line I've ever experienced at an airport. Then I had a layover in Stuttgart, Germany, which meant I had to go through customs and check back in again. Which meant waiting in more lines. Once I finally arrived in Zurich I met a local who helped me figure out which tram to take and then walked several blocks with two suitcases of luggage.

... Upon arriving at the beautiful old stone building and finding my way upstairs to the hall where we would dance, I immediately melted and knew it would be a great dance that night. The location is a sacred space that hosts religious events sometimes. 

I helped set up and found out that we would be using a brand new sound system with circular speakers. I met who I would be collaborating with on the welcoming warm-ups and the closing acoustic songs and it all flowed beautifully from there.

There is a specialness when a community has been dancing together for many years on a consistent basis. This dance has been held weekly since 2015 and with a space that beautiful it was pure magic. So lovely to meet so many beautiful people and play music while the Sun went down and the colored lights came on in the hall. 

Since there was a new sound setup I had to set up the DJ table off to the side of the stage level with the dancers. This was sweet to be right there with them and the stage was left for an alter.

It was a vibrant and special night. The perfect first introduction to the Zürich dance community and Switzerland. 

This set is two hours long with two waves infused with deep bass beginnings, and textured house peaks. There's some American pop thrown in for fun, with a Latin and African theme found throughout. Enjoy the long blends and have as much fun as I did listening at home.

Artists include Axel Thesleff, Mixwell, Maugli, German Brigante, Savej, Entheo, Luckey, Ayla Nereo, Jungle Kitchen, and remixes of Beyonce and Kelis.

Recorded live on the Odessa Boat in Amsterdam on August 5, 2022. My debut set in Amsterdam.

This set is almost entirely brand new music! Released within days or at most a few weeks of this dance experience. 

It was an honor and pleasure to be the captain of the dance on the famed Odessa Boat. Where we are onboard a boat in an Amsterdam canal.

The Netherlands is actually below sea level and on the inside of the boat, we are halfway submerged under the water when on the dancefloor. We could see the water level out of the round windows until they were too steamy to see out of because of the juicy dance vibes.

The first wave of this set is a soulful selection of steady-beat songs. Where we rode the rhythm and got into the flow. The second wave is a Bass heavy deep dive into ice cracking, glitchy, tidal waves of juicy vibrations pouring down like rain and finally drops into melty, gooey goodness. We washed back up like on a sea shore together feeling cleansed and purified.

The night began with a cacao ceremony song circle on the upper deck with the incredible Leonie Bos and concluded in the depths of the dancehall with some sweet songs afterward as well. 

This set includes artists such as Sol Selectas, SavaBorsa, Deya Dova, Clozee, Scott Nice, Populous, Ayla Nereo, Ayla Shafer, and a James Brown remix.

Recorded live at the Mysterland Festival on August 26, 2022. One of Europe's largest electronic music festivals.

This Ecstatic Dance took place at the Healing Gardens area in the Mysteryland Festival, where over 100,000 people attend from all over the world. The Healing Gardens area is a sanctuary for healing and transformation. With daily yoga, breathwork, and dance sessions, massage, and energy work is done for the massive crowd of party animals. 

More and more large festival gatherings are in need of these healing spaces to balance out the extreme stimulation of the festival's concerts and large crowds. I have the honor and pleasure to travel the world and share in many of these healing spaces. 

Not a traditional 2-wave Ecstatic set. This mix starts out slow with medicine music, into some ethno downtempo, the steady rhythm peaks at more uptempo vibes, drops into some deep bass and floats you off into some chill ambient at the very end.

With music from Brazilian Amazon, and some Portuguese and Spanish lyrics. Artists include Satori, Mushina, SavaBorsa, Mose, Savej, Polish Ambassador, and some Missy Elliot remixes.

Mysteryland Festival :: Healing Gardens :: Ecstatic Dance ::  Holland :: Aug 26, 2022 :: Levi Banner

This album is an offering of spacious, simple compositions that offer a deep meditative space of healing and relaxation. Bask in the power of ancient mantras, sounds that transform consciousness. Forgiveness

Recorded live at Boom Festival on the 25th of July 2023 at the Prana Shala in the Being Fields area. 

Hundreds of people gathered for this Shamanic Movement Journey of Ecstatic Dance. One of my favorite sets I've played thus far. Even though this was at a huge 30k + person festival, we set the container with strong intention by calling in the directions of the land we were on surrounded by the calm lake, small mountains, sunset, and stars. 

Even though the main stage was nearby, we had our own zone where we went to incredible heights from deep intentional space to wild ecstasy, joy, pleasure, and fun. In the end, we dropped into silence. One of the sweetest moments I've had as a DJ wasn't the booming peaks we enjoyed but the honest reflective moments in the sweet silence after the music stopped. Integrative closure from an epic journey together.

I wish you could hear in the recording the musical genius of the friends I had on stage with me such as the pair called Secret Moon whose sound healing and voice activation workshops also sparked the hearts of many at the festival, and my sister La May who founded Ecstatic Dance Colombia sang to her original tracks found in this set.

A joy and an honor to have them on stage with me... Then the dancers came! Had a few folks hop up on the other side of the stage and get wild. At some moments it was tangibly sacred, in other moments it was a wild party. We returned, in the end, to sweet and sacred silence. I also wish you could hear the excited yells and cathartic shouts of the dancers in spontaneous moments. 

Though you will feel for yourself the intensity of the tracks played in a particular order of one big wave of emotion and intensity for you to dance and shout at home to in this mix.

Thank you to the hundreds of dancers that came for this experience and stayed for the full experience. I hope you all enjoy the music at home as much as I do playing it.

This Ecstatic Dance was a Shamanic Movement Journey, so has a more Tribal and psychedelic theme woven throughout.

Boom Festival :: Ecstatic Dance :: Shamanic Movement Journey :: July 25, 2023 :: Levi Banner

Recorded live at Xperience Festival, August 2024 at Yoga Vidya in western Germany.

From the main stage, with lights flashing and smoke machines pouring. Where hundreds of dancers met me with excitement and joy. At the biggest Ashram in Europe. In the large tent at the Xperience Festival. I let loose this epic set dedicated to the festival and the dancers.

This mix starts sweetly slow with ambient sounds and piano. Then leads into beats with bass that build to a peak of techno and remixed German classics. Then down again into another building wave from deep mystical tracks up to Afro house and peaks again into remixed rock and classical before meeting in the ambient, soft, and tranquil landing. 

With song themes of Germany and Experience, artists include Temple Step Project, Mose, Franko Heke, Human Experience, and DJ Drez, with remixed German classics from Cro, and Nina. Included also are remixes of the greats Jimi Hendrix and Ludovico Einaudi.

This mix is sure to bring you on an experiential journey like the hundreds of yogis, bhaktas, and dancers that all went along for this beautiful festival ride with me. 

It was a blessing to also share Breathwork and Astrology to large and wonderful groups of mostly German folks at this event. A highlight was certainly this dance. So now I bring it to you and bring it back for those that were there.
