When Tee asked me to do the mix I decided to do it all from music that my amigos sent me to listen to while I was in isolation in São Paulo.

I was bowled over by the kindness & generosity of people. But this is kinda of normal in Brasil tbh. It’s one of the things I cherish about the place. & it certainly helped me through my period locked up inside.

Following on from our feature and mix with Queen & Disco, next up to the plate as part of our Scottish House and Disco Festival coverage is one of the gents of the scene Jaegerossa (@phil-rose-1973). One of the heads behind one of Disco's most prolific and loved labels Midnight Riot, Phil the man behind Jaegerossa has been a dedicated clubber, music lover, DJ and producer since the 90's. 

Along the way he has had some serious success under a variety of monikers including most recently as the chart topping Platinum City. Ahead of the festival I spoke to Phil in depth about his musical upbringing, his career, some of his hits and near misses, Midnight Riot and Platinum City. As you would expect he has some fantastic stories.

The Dukes have steadily been carving out a very well earned reputation as seriously talented producers over the last few years. It's no surprise really as they comprise Italian producers Walterino and Keller, two producers whose history spans all the way back to the 90's. Between them their pedigree is pretty incredible there have been chart hits with Moody's Dove and Wamdue Project's King of My Castle, a near endless list of original releases and a host of huge name remixes including Masters At Work, Ultra Nate’, Michael Watford, Moby, Donna Summer, Cerrone, Peter Gabriel and Frankie Knuckles. They have already had careers that most producers can only dream off.

On the back of their classy remix of Jestofunk, which has been doing some serious damage over the last couple of months, they have just released a brilliant single 'Always Better' with Double Dee on Midnight Riot which has been tearing up the Traxsource charts.

One of hottest up & comers around right now is next up to the mixtapes and he's provided us with the finest selection of wax and digital tracks right now!

First things you have to know with Kellit is that ‘the funkier the better’, a statement he encompasses in both his productions and DJ sets. 

Initial underground outings in Birmingham towards the end of his sixth form years was the first taste of the music he has come to know and love.

However, it wasn't until  the full introduction to the Liverpool scene whilst Studying there at University that really cemented this passion. This exposure coupled with heavy influences from his parents' taste in 80's music and disco have really moulded his sound to what it is today.

Kellit’s current direction sees sets full of energy with disco, 80's and acid influences prominent in an all encompassing ‘house’ sound.  Kellit holds releases on labels such See-Saw, Lisztomania, Moiss Music, with a notable number of unreleased projects ready to find a home and many more scheduled for release throughout the year!

Phazed Groove (@user-368780665) has been repeatedly popping up on our LV disco radar over the last couple of years with a string of brilliant singles on @tropicaldiscorecords which have repeatedly topped the charts on Traxsource. Far from an overnight success he has put in the long hard hours over the years from being a DMC champion way back in 1989 to signing Pete Tong Supported tracks to Limbo in the mid 90's.

We were blown away by the recent Lanowa single My Fantasy which landed in our inbox a couple of weeks back. It's incoming at the start of July on Citizens of Vice and features three divine remixes by Crooked Man. It's an EP which touches on everything from Balearic house to percussion heavy deep house. From the sundown to the dancefloor it covers all bases. We hosted the premier of Crooked Man's Remix 1 and it's very special indeed so make sure that you check it out.

The first time I caught @samredmore was in the mix for Craig Charles BBC Radio 6 Funk and Soul show and it was a bit of a wow moment. That he is an extremely talented DJ is an understatement.

He is also a very accomplished artist and currently has a brilliant album Universal Vibrations out via the spiciest of UK labels @jalapeno-records.

With a superb new modern Brazilian Disco EP out on the excellent @fileunderdisco which has garnered remixes from heavy hitters JKriv, Dicky Trisco and Joutro Mundo and has seen some huge DJ support we thought that it was high time that we got to know @Processman a little better.

Nicola Conte & Nico Lahs return with their eagerly awaited second EP, continuing the musical journey they began with their acclaimed 12” Macumba de Oxalà / La Danse De L’Esprit.

This new release confirms the creative synergy between two producers who speak the same musical language: a refined blend of spiritual jazz, Afro-American rhythms and electronic sensibility, designed for the most eclectic and sophisticated dancefloors. The Tema Due project is aimed at a refined club scene, attentive to the depth and purpose of sound. Once again, Conte and Lahs are turning the dance floor into a ritual space, where body and spirit move in harmony in a musical language that not only entertains but also elevates.

In this “EP2”, Nicola Conte and Nico Lahs collaborate for the first time with the talented young Brazilian percussionist Gabriel Prado and consolidate their long-standing partnership with pianist Pietro Lusso, who plays a fundamental role in shaping the musical identity of this work. Among the tracks, “Share Your Love” stands out in particular, interpreted by Brazilian singer Nina Miranda, who brings emotional depth to a track that talks about peace, sharing and love between peoples, and is enriched by the participation of Giovanni Guidi on Fender Rhodes and synths.

“EP2” precedes the release of Tema Due’s full-length album, which is currently taking shape – a work that promises to further consolidate the duo’s shared vision, expanding their conceptual and sonic scope. To crown this creative cycle, the album will also be followed by a third EP with additional unreleased tracks, symbolically closing a trilogy of sound and vision. A coherent, intense and uncompromising musical journey, where club culture meets spirituality and artistic exploration.
