Iceland's @Intr0beatz is an artist who has long been on our radar, he's is consistently excellent at crafting house music with an uncanny knack of causing some serious mischief on the dancefloor.

You know that long hot days are fast approaching when it is Brazilian music that you crave. Thankfully the Scruniversal has got us covered with a second release that is as scorching as the first. It pairs MPB, samba and Latin flair with hard-edged hip-hop and funk stylings across a pair of tunes from Scruscru, each one a different collaboration. The first is alongside Tony Lavrutz and has gorgeous vocals and organic percussion paired with cut-up beats and jazzy keys that will ignite any floor on 'Rave Du Brazil.' It is Los Protos's jazz funk groover 'Primavera' that gets the good vibes going on the flip.

Kyodai are back! It's been ten years since the duo debuted with 'Breaking' on Local Talk. A track which made a big impact on the house scene all across the globe, played over and over again. Since then they've kept delivering several EPs and remixes on the label, all with a very high standard and gaining fans like Gilles Peterson and Masters At Work.

Their new single shows why their music is still relevant. Not everything has to be peak time material or have a 140 bpm tempo to get your attention. It's musical, it's soulful and damn good!

2023 marks the 10th anniversary of Heist Recordings and as always, we kick off the year with our Round up where each artist of the last year remixes another artist. We’ve had an all-star cast in 2022 with Crackazat, Byron the Aquarius, Dam Swindle, Orlando Voorn, Nebraska and Makèz, so the anticipation for this year’s Round Up was huge. 

We’ve had Byron the Aquarius remix one of Dam Swindle’s ‘Keep on Swindling’ hits ‘Good Woman’ and turn that afro dancefloor monster into a typical deep and vibey affair that Byron does so well. Crackazat has taken Orlando Voorn’s wonky soul track ‘Be with you’ into a peak time summer anthem, while Nebraska has poured some of his boom-bap disco sauce on Byron the Aquarius classic spoken word song ‘Succes’ Makèz go for an uptempo version of Nebraska’s Chant des Oiseaux that lies somewhere between discofied house and gloriously upbeat tech-house. Dam Swindle take a disco-meets techno approach to Crackazat 2022 hit Demucha and Orlando Voorn turns ‘La grande folie’ by Makèz into a Midwest cosmic jazz jam.

Kickstarting their 2023 account @momentcinetique have invited Toronto based producer @jasonhersco for a first foray onto the label and what a way to open his account.

Dylan’s Groove is a double header featuring the title track backed up by the classy deep Jazzy groove of Decide. Our premier today Dylan’s Groove is stone-cold monster of groove laden house track. Here the combination bass and Sax grooves fit hand in hand for one hell of a hypnotic dancefloor moment. Club carnage all the way with this one!

Another absolute diamond from Moment Cinetique and an artist who we will very much be keeping an eye on in 2023.

New single from @momentcinetique you say, yeah "send it over" I say. Oh it's from @Intr0beatz. Aye proper, they're always a brilliant team I thought to myself. They didn't even mention the remix from @warren_xclnce and I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on it.

Safe to say I definitely wasn't disappointed. Moment Cinetique is a proper go-to label for me and has been for a couple of years, the A&R is always off the scale breaking new artists but also keeping great relationships with longstanding artists which is the mark of a classy label. They also don't force the releases just putting out music that feels right and that shines through as every release has it's own energy.

Madolinio is a throbbing slice of kick-ass underground deep house. Techy but organic, packed with energy and a real vitality it's a real benchmark for the brilliance of house music in 2023.

While we wait for the next Dancing With Friends Vol.3 V/A album to drop later this summer SlothBoogie give us our next fix with a new spin off called Remixing With Friends. As you’d guess from the name… the project invites their global roster of friends and family of the label to take a deep dive through the SB archive and pick out some tracks to remix and make their own.

The first instalment kicks off with Scottish hero, The Revenge, with a toughened and looped up remix of DJ Aakmael’s Strobe. Chicago’s Chrissy chips in with a pumping yet floaty Bass driven rework of Jesse Bru & Max Ulis’ Big Chirp. Canada’s Jason Hodges adds some trademark bump to I-Gemin’s Green Light morphing it into a House stepper.

Hackney based duo International Dateline channel shimmering synthy Metro Area vibes as they re-imagine Jesse Bru’s Yellow Sunshine Machine.
