Bangkok-based Cosmic Tiger was set up in 2019 as a music fanzine to collate and share star-gazing sounds and musical learnings with like-minded beings from across the galaxy. The much-loved psychedelic despatch has now manifested a label arm, and launches with a re-mastered digital release of label founder Rocco Universal's 'Fleeting Eternity EP' – which was previously only available on vinyl.

Jacques Renault has been a longtime favoruite here at LV HQ, his tracks have been regulars in LV dj sets for quite some time. His recent collab with Gerd Janson 'Jacque'd Toolbox' being a fine example of why we hold him is such high esteem. It's a 12" well worth hunting down. 

His latest release is something a little out of the ordinary. Sky Islands is landing just in time for RSD drop 2 and features 23 tracks mixed together over 2 sides of a 12". A mini mix of sorts it's the perfect tool for DJ's who love to do really long sets. Packed with energy each side runs at 14minutes plus so is absolutely ideal for making a quick comfort break with enough time to bag a drink or two on the way back to the booth. Full to the brim of energetic leftfield disco it's heavy on the percussion, big basslines and synths. This is a really classy release.

Bristol's Janty lands on the excellent Closer To Truth with a quality EP 'Desire'. Featuring three sublime deep house tracks with a well defined sound across the whole EP it's a very well assured release which will definitely keep his firm ascent through the house world on track.

@recutmusic has been making a real mark on the disco and house scene over the last year with the release of his Recut Music and Dub Zero EP's both which were packed with deep and dirty club music. Daje Funk has become a real go to label if you love a modern take on classic funk which has been meticulously recrafted to work for today's dancefloors. There have been some real moments on the label already De Gama, Massimo Berardi, DJ Rocca and some of the finest producers out there today working in the disco and edits scenes.

Their latest release is the Slam Dunk EP and the name hits the nail right on the head. It's most definitely a musical slam dunk with four tracks from across the funk spectrum as an all-star cast of producers Ronny Hammond, Shit Hot Soundsystem, Uptown Funk and Coldbeard all take turns to vie for dancefloor gold.

Our premier today is Ronny Hammond’s ‘Keep On Groovin’ and it’s a very serious club track featuring a classic "where do I know that from" vocal sample. Infectious is the first word that comes to mind to describe Somebody, it's a perfect fusion of classic disco energy and 2021 production techniques with the resultant track being insanely catchy. indeed it's a track which will cause all sorts of mischief on the dancefloor in the coming months.

A collaboration between Los Angeles based @clavettemusic and Austin based producer @boogietraxxatx this one came about through lockdown when the two producers met online and shared their love of 70's disco and production gear.

Somebody is released on the 23rd July with a full EP incoming on the 6th August and if Somebody is anything to go by this is a collaboration that we hope runs and runs. Milan's The Robinson make their debut on Monologues Records following truly sumptuous outings on the likes of Futureboogie Records (where they received a remix from the legend Ron Trent) and Rye Records. Pushing a sound that taps into the vein of classic deep US house, from Glenn Underground to Body & Soul, their sophisticated productions encompasses beautiful synth work and excellent attention to groove and rhythm.

'Mondo' is a melancholy stunner where soaring pads give a subtle edge of ecstasy, 'Electric City' is a chugging, synth-heavy atmospheric workout in the Joe Claussel vein, and 'Acid Square' is pure deepness with beautiful melodies and layers of organic percussion. Monologues mainstays Manakinz bring a heady Glasgow touch to their remix of 'Acid Square', building things to a tripped-out, spacey climax.
