It seems like Joris Feiertag planned to shoot for the moon in 2020. The drummer extraordinaire – who is releasing music as «Feiertag» since 2015 and collaborates among others with Kraak & Smaak or Pitto – put out already an EP called «Severance» in January via Sonar Kollektiv. While we’re all still digesting it, the next drum-roll follows already: Together with the UK based singer Oli Hannaford (who can be heard on the track «Ocean» off «Severance») Feiertag has created his very own anthem for the current year. «Seasons» is a piece of pop music you (unfortunately) only hear very rarely. The drums are funky, heavy and because of the dominant snare could almost be used as a hiphop beat. The sporadic brass sections and brief guitar roarings get interrupted by chord changes and breaks again and again turning the basic three-minute pop song into a masterstroke of arrangement and composition. Hannaford’s lyrics («for you I wait until the end...») complete the song to become an ode to spring, to friendship, to love and of course to life.
By the way: Feiertag’s 2020 is not coming to end yet. In late summer the second EP this year  will follow («Heal»). You should prepare yourself for a sparkling summer.

The „Love and Nature“ artists set off on new adventures and this time they have to face the catastrophic incidents in Australia.

Since September 2019 hundreds of bush fires have burnt over 6 million hectares of land. Scientists estimate that over 1 billion animals are affected. the reasons for the fires are versatile but the worst drought in Australias history and record high temperatures - up to 46 degrees - may be the main reasons. All this can be traced back to global warming but lots of politicians and huge parts of society still close their eyes. It is terrifying to see that every year announcements like this are rising and we are still not able to develop sustainable economic systems. Just embarrassing that country’s like Australia, Brazil or USA, which have to face natural catastrophes more than other countries, blocking important resolutions to stop the climate change. But also we have to take responsibility for our consumption behaviours to sent a signal to the economy.

Kollektiv.Liebe decided to donate all earnings of this release to „Wires“ which founded an Emergency Fund. It helps to rescue sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

In Dec. 2018, my twin Tommy was found unconscious on the side of the road after a horrific motorcycle accident. As I sat in the intensive care unit that night, I was told that they might not wake up, and I had to contemplate the devastating possibility of losing my other half. This film is a celebration of Tommy’s survival and strength, their queerness and their community who loves and cares deeply for them. 

The clip features Tommy dancing inside Sydney’s Red Rattler Theatre — a space where, growing up, Tommy felt safe and comfortable to be wholeheartedly and completely themselves, a place where they found their family, and their identity. After spending months in a wheelchair with a broken back, ribs and pelvis, nerve damage and brain injury, Tommy can once again move and express themselves freely, an incredible thing to watch as their brother.

With this release on La Fête Recording, Yann Polewka wanted to honour a very punchy house that will transport you directly under the palm trees and the summer sun, enough to prolong this summer period so special this year.

Going from a smooth Grover Washington Jr. atmosphere with a jazz/hip hop beat on "UFO" to more dancefloor-scratching sounds like "The Ghetto" or "You got it" and his shattering vocal, Yann reveals the extent of his talents which is not limited to house with this record.

On the second side, we find the track "Dressed Like A Fella" in its original version along with a remix by Ethyène, founder of the french label Moonrise Hill Material, who once again illustrates his own style.

Recorded at ‘The House of IMIZWA’ studios, reggae artist and Asian Dub Foundation frontman Ghetto Priest teams up with Carlton ‘Bubbler’ Ogilvie to produce and unleash his fresh reggae take of the mighty Aaron Neville’s iconic 1973 rare groove classic ‘Hercules’. With Mr Ogilvie on keyboards, Ital Horns on brass duties Greg Blackman on backing vocals and Crucial Tony on guitar, Ghetto’s beautifully executed, deft vocals ride over a rock solid riddim - the original version taken from Ghetto’s forthcoming ‘Big People Music’ LP. You’ll hear this blasting out of low rider windows rolled down in the summer heat and radios across the globe in 2021 and beyond.

Ashley Beedle and Darren Morris take the North Street West ‘HOLYVOODOU’ remix on a musical detour through hidden Louisiana backwaters to visit a ‘vaudou’ priestess to collect some gris gris and onward to New Orleans to meet Doctor John at the Mardi Gras. Leaning heavily towards the Meters school of phrasing, the North Street West version is infused with layers of eloquent keyboards, righteous handclapping, chicken bones and a generous helping of Bayou Funk, making a connection to the Aaron Neville original. A North Street West Dub and Radio Edit completes the package.
