A series of mixes from Le Visiteur and some of our favourite guest DJ's celebrating some of the most incredible artists, labels and moments in music that have helped shape our scene into what it is today.

LV Icons - Worship Mixes

FOUK (@justsayfouk) is our new guest. Fouk is the project of Dutch producers Daniël Leseman & Hans Peeman (Junktion) For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Dam Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Luke Million, Joey Negro and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’ they return again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’. Continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity.

@frapperecords has become a real go to label over the last couple of years consistently releasing top class wax from their first release right through to what is now their fifth 'Afrodisiaque'. 

Based in Paris they are truly passionate about their support of the French electronic scene releasing tracks from many of the scene's up-and-coming artists and stalwarts alike. To celebrate their brand new 12" we asked label co-boss @tenfingerzmusic to put together a mix of his favourite classic French tracks. As a DJ raised on the French sound, hence the Le Visiteur moniker, this mix is just pure bliss. Berlin's disco wizard @Delfonic is an incredible talent. Having just released his second EP of edits for Colombia's ace Nómada Records, we spoke to him in depth about the EP, Berlin, working with Nómada and his favourite year in disco 1977. 

He's a DJ who always lays down spellbinding sets, a product of some seriously impressive musical knowledge, and having already delivered one sublime mix for Le Visiteur we are very pleased to have tempted him back behind the decks for us this time delivering a worship mix for that most fabled of disco years 1977.

@fsqofficial have a brand new remix album coming out this week via @soulclaprecs which see's some of the hottest producers on the planet including Ray Mang, Michael The Lion, Birdee, Tom Moulton, Dr Rubberfunk, Jitwam, DJ Rocca and Charlie Soul Clap reworking their ace 2020 album Reprise Tonight. It's very aptly titled Reprise, Reprise Tonight.

To celebrate the album we asked FSQ's band leader Chuck “Da Fonk” Fishman to deliver a worship mix to us. Having previously delivered a rather stunning rare P-Funk mix for us we were seriously looking forward to this one and he has delivered the goods yet again.

This time Chuck has chosen to the craft a mix around the work of legendary bass player Billy Bass Nelson including his tracks with such luminaries as Parliament, The Temptations and Smokey Robinson.

With a brand new single 'I Love Only You' out now on his own SoSilly Records we asked @jerk-boy to deliver a Worship Mix of an artist or a label which has been hugely influential in his own career. He picked one that is very close to our own heart in the shape of the compendium of labels and producer that make up Boys Own / Junior Boys Own and Jus' Trax. The mix is proper as you would very much expect from both Jerk Boy who is dynamite behind the decks and also with such an incredible discography to choose from.

@toby-oconnor first came to my attention with his excellent Late Night Burner Ep for Hot Digits, since then he has appeared on all of the right labels delivering a stream of highly danceable disco, disco edged house and straight up house tracks which have peppered the LV soundsystem and the download charts for that matter.

His latest venture see's him deliver a full artist album for one of my favourite labels, @TropicalDiscoRecords. Comprising everything that is brilliant about his sound, quirky instrumentals, funky basslines and all manner of dancefloor groove it's a total triumph delivering for both home listening and dancefloor adventures. You should definitely be tracking it down if you haven't already.

Musically Toby has a real affinity with Tropical Disco Records so we thought he was the perfect artists to ask to put together Tropical disco Worship Mix for us.
