Alex booked me for a gig on the Isle of Wight a few years back and was one of the first people to book me as Bad Tango. The dude is an absolute legend and his music reflects that, so when he sent me his track 'Meaning' around Christmas of last year I jumped at the chance to remix it! I haven't had this much fun with a remix since 'Welcome To The Future' by Too Dusty. The parts were simply brilliant and as a result the ideas flowed <3

Yo yo! I'm seriously glad to finally be sharing this track with you, it took an exceptionally long time to write. This is the A-side to my next EP for Broken Robot Records, and has been my end of set track for some time. I really tried to push my knowledge of sound design to the limits during it's making and in the process learned a whole bunch of techniques that i'd simply be lost without.

In physical cosmology and astronomy, dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy which permeates all of space and tends to accelerate the expansion of the universe.[1] Dark energy is the most accepted hypothesis to explain the observations since the 1990s indicating that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate. According to the Planck mission team, and based on the standard model of cosmology, on a mass–energy equivalence basis, the universe contains 26.8% dark matter, 68.3% dark energy (for a total of 95.1%) and 4.9% ordinary matter.[2][3][4][5] Again on a mass–energy equivalence basis, the density of dark energy (1.67 × 10−27 kg/m3) is very low: in the solar system, it is estimated only 6 tons of dark energy would be found within the radius of Pluto's orbit. However, it comes to dominate the mass–energy of the universe because it is uniform across space.[6]

Two proposed forms for dark energy are the cosmological constant, a constant energy density filling space homogeneously,[7] and scalar fields such as quintessence or moduli, dynamic quantities whose energy density can vary in time and space. Contributions from scalar fields that are constant in space are usually also included in the cosmological constant. The cosmological constant can be formulated to be equivalent to vacuum energy. Scalar fields that do change in space can be difficult to distinguish from a cosmological constant because the change may be extremely slow.

High-precision measurements of the expansion of the universe are required to understand how the expansion rate changes over time. In general relativity, the evolution of the expansion rate is parameterized by the cosmological equation of state (the relationship between temperature, pressure, and combined matter, energy, and vacuum energy density for any region of space). Measuring the equation of state for dark energy is one of the biggest efforts in observational cosmology today.

Adding the cosmological constant to cosmology's standard FLRW metric leads to the Lambda-CDM model, which has been referred to as the "standard model" of cosmology because of its precise agreement with observations. Dark energy has been used as a crucial ingredient in a recent attempt to formulate a cyclic model for the universe

All I can say about this one is it's a heads-down hands-up chugger of a choon. It's got a low slung groove with a high frequency vibration - a huge tune with a top drop and a shakedown in the breakdown. It does take prisoners but it lets them off the chain, and it’ll tear your roof off and build you a new one.

My first remix for Neurodriver was an absolute joy to create! It came together in about 3 days, every idea just flowing forth without effort or hesitation. I am particularly happy with this track, and the dancefloor response has been overwhelming! I recently received feedback on it from none other than HYBRID who said it was "the most rocking track we've heard all year". Stoked! 

I hope you guys enjoy it, i'd love to hear your comments and views. It will be released on Broken Robot records mid-september.  

Neurodriver - Man Made (Hedflux Remix)

By now you will have heard me raving on about Grouch on facebook. For me, and many others, he is one of the true masters of psychedelic music, and a hugely inspiring character! I got to spend a couple of days with him when I was in Australia earlier this year, and we played around on our laptops, producing as many cool sounds as we could in the time we had. After this, we went home and each produced a track using those sounds as the basis. This is my version, and it will be coming out on Broken Robot in December 2012. Grouch's version will be coming out sometime in 2013, i'll keep you posted!

The long awaited White Nights is finally seeing the light of day! I actually finished this track more than 2 years ago, I don't think it's dated that much, but that's for you guys to decide. I wrote this after first playing in St Petersburg in the spring of 2010, where it stays day light all through the night (hence white nights). It's been slotting perfectly into the end of my sets, being as it is 137bpm. Comments are gratefully received as always :)
