Dr. Fruit is a dj and producer based between Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Along with some friends, he started “Hot and Ready,” a monthly-ish queer techno pizza party at Bossa Nova Civic Club. In September of 2021, he released his first ep, “grapefruit,” on bandcamp. His eclectic, high energy mixing style incorporates a wide range of genres and influences with a heavy emphasis on groove.

"I was thinking of Sarah Farina’s idea of “rainbow bass”—she plays such a wide variety of bass styles that it almost seems chaotic but everything really fits together. I also think her mixes sound really gay. I wanted to make something like that but with energetic breaky house and techno. Rainbow breaks? I wanted it get pretty heavy while feeling light and bouncy. Mostly it is meant to be fun and surprising! Something for the girls to get ready and party to."
