a. Hi we’re asio and usof from the Living Room crew


q. is there a story behind the mix?
a. We were invited to perform a sleep show by the Ouvido Absoluto crew in Coimbra. We were very excited because playing a sleep set was always something we wanted to do. We've been collecting tracks specifically for an occasion like this for many years. On top of the different tracks we were improvising with a variety of digital instruments, to create an organic canvas of sound that is always moving, but very slowly. The idea of influencing dreams with music is one aspect that we found particularly interesting. So for that reason the set is not always focused on creating comfort, but rather different, sometimes quite alien moods.


q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. Sleeping and dreaming.


q. describe a favourite object in your living room…
a. Perhaps the red desk light in Cosmos (technically our living room:). it creates a very cozy atmosphere.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. The whole Living Room crew is soon set off to play at Waking Life. After that we’ll have a string of events in Lisbon, with the next one being on the 6th of July.

Killian is a Sydney/Eora based DJ and host M5 on FBi Radio, a show dedicated to dreamy, memory rich sounds: a tribute to the motor way running through Western Sydney and songs that remind us of childhood and home. 


In person, Killian's performances can be characterised by deep basslines, emotional melodies and post punk influences, weaved through restorative and energetic dance sets. She's supported NTS Radio and artists including Motionwards JS, Special Guest DJ, Vox Supreme and Polygonia, melding drums, trip hop and frenetic guitar music within the undercurrent of a rumbling bass line. 


This mix is a collection of her favourite tracks: synth pop and dark, eclectic selections and re-works that remind her of home.

rec delivers a whispered assemblage, half-awake, softly felt remembrance of something living beneath as a continuum, that never quite reveals its walls completely through the relentless tension of existence, where acoustics let it breathe and dissolve at once, folding into loops that feel like memories re-entering the body like an intoxicating smoke: a door left slightly open, guiding in a slumber of blurry syllables: warm, ghostlike, departing and stretching the softness until it becomes a migrating pulse, hope of the hearts humming in the distance without knowing they’re heard.
