FIRST LISTEN PREMIERE ::
Officially about a year ago Daniel Crook aka Dearly Departure debuted his tape, "Genesis" on 100% Silk which we premiered a track from and have been fans ever since. The LA based producer has taken a year-long hiatus to finally deliver his newest release, "A Model For The Coping" on Jungle Gym Records. 

The 6-track release is a stark contrast to that in which we heard in his previous tape but is equally as luring and captivating. Navigating through more melancholic ambient tones and textures, there is a slow-burn that rings throughout the tracks, harnessing darker elements with lighter arrangements. "Poltergeist" embodies this slow-burn yin/yang nature taking on a rather menacing gothic-induced melody and building on its raw crunchy basslines through sporadic drum patterns for half the track. The 8-min track then evolves to showcase a more reflective and peaceful side of the composition, with fleeting synths resonating a brighter arrangement of the chanting drums, drones, bloops and beeps. 2020 was definitely a sad year for club culture, but it reminded us of the importance of sharing in our communities, especially in the times to come. So, what better way to start 2021 than inviting a bunch of talented crafters around the anvil? We’re thrilled to unveil the fourth volume of the ‘Crysta Ampullaris’ series: an eclectic blend of works by friends, artists we love and – as usual – La Forge’s core producer unit.
More ambitious, this extended compilation brings together 13 tracks from top-tier French producers Saint-James, Scarlet, Aval Douar, Atomic Moog, Vina Konda, JKS and Raven, as well as Swiss army knife Hermeth, alongside regular blacksmiths Shonen Bat, Nigm, Ayuji, Slowglide and Lebird. It results in a wide-ranging and emotionally charged patchwork of highly energetic breakbeats, electro and techno bangers, deep introspective explorations and futuristic sonic oddities. Like a hopeful prayer for our beloved dancefloors to re-open soon !
