Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Straight Pride Month is a jazzy noise rock blast of unmitigated fury that ends with the closest approximation TFS to a showtune. Musically the song find TFS returning to their standard mesh of varied time signatures, unreleting melodic noise with a sound that feels like a rollercoaster cart that is about to come off the rails at any moment. 

It’s fitting that a song about upset gammon moaning about why they “don’t get a special month” just for being standard features Tom Robinson on backing vocals. The man who was not afaird to stand up and shout ‘Glad to Be Gay’ at a time where homosexuals were still being persecuted both by police and public alike - Tom was one of the pioneers in saying “fuck you” to bigotry. TFS view it as an honor as well as a career highlight. 

The lyrics are pretty straight forward, a call out to why there’s a pride - a clear sample, aimed towards all the homophobes with ‘lest we forget’ stuck on thier white vans. Clearly they forgot.  With a classic shout out to let all complainers know that now there is a straight pride month they can come out of the closets and live free, running through fields hand in hand with Theresa May who hates gay people. 

The song is the second of 4 new releases recorded by Those Fucking Snowflakes, mostly self produced due to lack of money or interest from people with money. The drums were recorded poshly by Tom Peters at Trapdoor Studio in London and the songs were mixed by Chris Hope of Milkshed Studios in Chorley. Everything else was badly recorded by the band themselves.
