Joi N’ Juno is the new project from singer, composer, multi instrumentalist, producer and audio engineer David Baluteau aka “Damny”. 
David started his musical career 25 years ago as the founding member of “La Phaze”, quickly establishing a strong reputation and cult following with his energising live performances. La Phaze toured extensively for 14 years, playing more than 700 shows in 35 countries and recording 5 albums, while also collaborating with artists such as Gogol bordello, manu Chao and Keny Arkana. 22 years later  La Phaze maintains their loyal fan base and recently finished a nationwide tour of France.

David has joined Manu Chao and Radio Bemba as keyboard player and back up singer for their European and usa tour and also Calypso Rose for the tour of her last album “far from home”, which obtained a French music award.
These years of experience shaped David into a highly skilled studio producer.  drawing on these strengths he built his professional studio “96db studio”, where he mixes and produces for artists such as Keny Arkana, Sol Pereyra, Yawdel, Orange Blossom, Elephanz and others.. His skill set sees him adapting to create musical works for synchronisation parts for TV shows and advertising, for prestigious companies like Bmg UK, Score Addiction and BAM Music. He was honoured with a Production Music Award in 2012.

In 2022, David Baluteau embarked on a new creative journey, creating his latest project “Joi N’J	uno”. The sound of Joi N’ Juno blends warm vintage keyboards, funky guitars and grooving basslines with triumphant horns and heady vocals. Joi N Juno fuses influences from African and tropical funk and disco traditions, splicing these spicy outernational flavours with the slick production of modern disco & the punch of house beats to create an intoxicating and invigorating recipe that challenges anyone to sit still! 

Joi N’ Juno has seen solid support from artists such as Folamour, David Penn, Nickodemus & Tiger Balm and has been remixed by scene luminaries such as Art of Tones & Hotmood.

In 2023 David started to record his first solo album under the new moniker, titled “Samemala”, which is signed to Canopy Records, scheduled for release in early October on vinyl and digital format, followed by a tour of live shows.

Joi N’Juno is a project of soulful liberation. It is the sound of joy and the sound of triumph in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Chris Brudzinski (onefiftyone) showed an interest in music at a young age. He spent hours going through and listening to his parents' stacks of records. At the age of 14, he invested in turntables and a DJ mixer. He taught himself how to DJ and spent hours perfecting his craft. You could find him at any number of record shops in Chicagoland taking in new music and expanding his knowledge of musicians and genres. He became so interested in music and recording that he went to school to become a Sound Recording Engineer. While in college he spent some time living in London and traveled around Europe taking in the sights and sounds. After graduating college he has gone on to work at record labels, and a music distribution company. Chris has managed events and has organized technical aspects of weddings as an hospitality AV Manager for 14 years. Chris has built a home recording studio and works on producing music with friends (Square Frames). He has DJed for weddings as far as Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Milwaukee. Chris has DJed at many venues, restaurants, and lounges in Chicagoland. Some of these include: The House of Blues, Subterranean, Bottom Lounge, Untitled Supper Club, Chicago Athletic Association Game Room, The Ravenswood Arts Center, Smart Bar, Loft On Lake, Revival Food Hall, People Lounge, The Newberry Library, Lush Wine Bar, Hubbard Inn, Beauty Bar, River Forest Country Club, The Inn of Chicago, Diversey River Bowl, Sushi Wabi, 44th Ward Dinner Party, and The Cerise Rooftop at the Virgin Hotel.

Banished from the supernatural realms of existence by the disco warlords, Itchy Rich travelled through Space for 1000 years stopping at every intergalactic dance party along the way learning as much as his could about the nightlife of our cosmos. Finally coming across planet Earth where he saw an opportunity to put all that he had learnt into practice.

The Patchouli Brothers are best friends bound together by oddities. They share an affinity for the esoteric side of disco, house, and all other forms of soulful dance music. They hold down a residency at Beam Me Up, a disco night in Toronto & Montreal, and have had releases on some of their favourite labels like Defected, Nervous, Razor-n-Tape, Soundway, GAMM, Soul Clap, Star Creature, Pleasure of Love & Basic Fingers.
