Steven Bhekinkosi Mabaso (born in 2nd July 1985) better known by his
stage name $tivo is a South African rapper entrepreneur born and
raised in Zola, Soweto.

He was raised by his single father and also South African music legend
David Vusimuzi Mabaso, a well known Bassist and also co-founder of
"Brenda and The Big Dudes".

His music career started an early age of 13 where he started listening
to rap legends like Dmx, Tupac, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Jayz and many more.
This led to him writing songs at an early age.

Initially he started rapping only in English until the rise of Ghetto
superstars like Mandoza, Zola, Pitch Black Afro and also not forgeting
Prokid which led to him rapping and writing also in Zulu.

More than ten years later he is back with catchy flows kasi raw rap
and also an amazing play with words, the streets are going crazy over
the two singles "Tswara and Is'french where he revives Kasi Rap and
culture, Soweto stand up for your boy $tivo.
