Real Life

Track 2 from my upcoming Tracking Sounds 2 album, this one details the roots of the problems outlined in the first half of the LP. It's turned into a bit of a concept album of sorts, but I'm not sure what it might be. More Apocalyptic vibes, as with Forest Path.

The dialogue comes from the introduction to Resistance: Fall of Man, one of my favorite PS3 games. Like TimeSplitters before it, it only got three games and was promptly cancelled. I really wish we got a fourth.

Dialogue:

"The threat began in Russia. The origin of the virus is unknown, but its effects were devastating and swift. In the nineteen thirties reports of biological experiments began leaking out of Russia. Then reports of villages destroyed overnight. Then entire cities. We feared the Russians had developed a weapon of unparalleled power; the truth was far worse. They stayed sealed in Russia for over a decade. Then in nineteen forty-nine they launched an attack that overwhelmed all of Europe in a matter of weeks. For several months we thought England was safe, but in October of nineteen fifty, they burrowed under the Chunnel. We had prepared for them, but in three months' time, the war was lost.

They had won."
