PREMIERE: Avante (UK) — Ellis [OVRDOSE Deep]

We can say without hesitate that our next EP is signed by one of the most active members from Canary Islands' tech-house scene. Under the moniker of Alex Wellmann, the young DJ & Producer is in his element delivering peak-time cuts on top brands such as Miami's finest Mr Nice Guy or Danny Serrano's Eat & Beat. Alex Wellmann continues to grow his reputation as a rising artist of note as he shows on tittle cut 'Fuzzy', a vibrant track with hefty kicks and slick grooves that marks a great comeback on Roush. Next up, following the same taste as the previous cut 'A Us' is made to smash any tech-house dancefloor with the catchy vocals and powerful drums.

The next release on Libero comes via Milan-based artist, Fabio Vi. The Habla Music label boss delivers ‘Into The Beat’ - consisting of two original cuts, supplemented by remixes from rising UK talents, GuyMac and Josh Lee.

The title track is built on a foundation of heavyset kicks, tonal toms, cowbells and hand drums - all complemented by a catchy vocal hook. Straight off the bat encapsulating the label ethos of percussion-centric, rolling House perfectly.

GuyMac’s remix of the A-side gives it an injection of upbeat energy. Pacey rhythms and offbeat percussion keep you on your toes, whilst acid-tinged melodics gives the track some enjoyable grit. A remix full of character, with a variety of different scenes.

Next up is Josh Lee with his remix of the title track. A track with wave-like energy and swaying percussion. Driven by a huge melodic tom sequence, constant peaks and troughs make for a hypnotic journey through its many progressive gears.

Fabio closes off the release with his track ‘Cloud’, taking things down a few floors with its dark demeanour. Undulating low-frequencies drive the track forward, propelled by subtle synths and an eerie vox line.

Manchester-based imprint Libero Records is quickly becoming a staple in the diet of many underground tech-house appreciators. With a stripped-back approach and rhythmic grooves teeming throughout their already blossoming catalogue of releases, it’s easy to see why the label’s exposure is growing at an exponential rate. 

Label frontmen Mike Morrisey, Luke Welsh and Dan Costello lead the march in pushing the Libero Sound to the masses.

Building around a focus on percussive, minimalist tech-house inspired by concepts like the infamous Music On and artists like Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna and many more; Libero’s ethos is centred around the rolling soul of underground dance music. Through the label, as well as regular events and a frequent podcast series, they consistently broadcast their simple yet effective Libero Sound ideology to the farthest corners of the scene.
