@sassmouth is a DJ based in her longtime adopted home, Chicago. She playfully mixes all kinds of records with a focus on techno, house, acid and electro sounds. She created her label God Particle as a homage to this style of DJing- a place for friends to showcase music that connects the dots between all these styles of dance music. She is a rave mom and real mom and co-runs Walking and Falling- a mentor program for woman and non-binary music enthusiasts that want to learn to DJ. If you don’t see her in the booth she is very likely dancing her ass off by the front left speaker.

Well... I must admit, I am overflowing with gratitude and still in the afterglow of one of the best full moon celebrations in a long a while for me!

 This is a 2 hour dj set. The weather was perfect going from a warm afternoon into sunset, and night. The forest meadow was alive with dancers of spirit and fire. Drums beating, feet stomping, howls of all kinds echoing!
The moon showed its bright eye and from where I was standing inside the dj booth, it was truly spectacular to see. 
There is no other feeling like that and I hope to feel it again soon. 
I, as I have been so many times before, am left fully in awe.  Moontribe is just incredible and has again charged my soul. My friends, my family, this beautiful planet, our sacred Moon...the MUSIC!

So much love and gratitude for this community.

Do not know where I'd be if I didn't find this tribe 22 years ago.

"This mix is a midtempo/funky house journey through some of my favorite genres- soul, hip-hop, gospel, bluegrass, Dolly (yeah, Dolly probably counts as her own genre). It makes me and mine move our happy asses and I hope it does the same for you and yours. Shout out to my crews Brass Tax and Angels of bAss- proud to still be going strong after all these years with y'all. And to HazMatt and my little man QDubs- my biggest cheerleaders and harshest critics who egg me on with DJ treats (french fries and booty shakes) but also never hesitate to tell me when something sounds "yucky." Thanks to the Space Cowboys for the invitation and to everyone who still follows me and remembers my name, even after I've stepped away from the scene for a minute or two. 10 years of frolic campout! Such a momentous occasion required a set to match. Saturday night (technically sun am) 12:15-1:30am @ Saratoga Springs Aug 2-4. Blasting off on the insane waveworks sound system meant the basslines had to hit hard, the culmination of ten years of putting on a bespoke event with the best vibe required the right sounds. Hope you enjoy the set, mostly tech-house with some fun bouncier house thrown in.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

For over a decade Lick the DJ has been playing on the same continents as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, Trentemøller, Adam Beyer, Bassnectar, Daft Punk, Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, and many more. While in Berlin during the temperate summer of 2011 he successfully visited the headquarters of M-nus Records and was refused entrance to the world famous Berghain night club. He did, however, get into Twilo three separate times in the '90s.
