To me, this was the best (year-)mix in the BVD series.

This is a megamix I did for Ferry Maat's Soul Show when it returned on air on Radio Veronica (The Netherlands) in September 2003. The mix was coded BVD 1002. I used mostly records from the 80s when I was a big fan of the radio show. 

On air host Ferry Maat informed future megamixers that this mix raised the bar pretty high :)It was funny to see that several other DJ's later used the "format" of this megamix as a blue print for their own megamixes. 

The intro and outro of this mix have been taken from my charted hitrecord The Happy Groover - When I snap my fingers.

Taking you back to STUDIO 54 from the years 1978 - 1984 when once upon a time the Best Dame Disco Nightclub ever !!!! back when all the celebrities music artists and actors would go to weekly and party with everyone !!! Michael  Jackson, Grace Jones, Mick Jagger, Liza, Brooke Shields, Diana Ross, Calvin Klein and many thousands of others to many to mention but STUDIO 54 lives on and on forever !!!!

Studio 54 existed for about 8 years, at the tail end of the Seventies, before killjoy internal revenue agents stormed its cavernous Manhattan premises, its two founders ending up in prison.

Although it continued in various incarnations, it was never the same again. But just as the flame that burns brightly burns half as long, what wild months those were.

Studio 54 is remembered as the place where Bianca Jagger — she made that brief horseback trip across the dancefloor to celebrate her 32nd birthday — was a Studio 54 stalwart, along with fellow attention-junkies Andy Warhol and Liza Minnelli and famous celebrites actors and music artists gathered and danced to Disco and enjoyed the big light show and hudge sound system. it will always be remembered as the best times in Disco history !!!
