Turning zestful melodies to sink seamlessly into times of passion and melancholy between the steady spill of intriguing jazzy rhythms and addictive motion pusher beats that ride upon expanding basslines. . . This hearty array of steppin' goodness features a remix of 'Knightly', by The Inexplicables. Taking the original beauty of the Bristol based acoustic band and metamorphosing it's essence in to a tasty bass music approach. . . The album artwork depicts the feeling and emotion that Saxon experienced when plucking 2016's harvest of beetroots from the earth with his son. An experience that has manifested a sense of 'pressure' in him, to learn more about growing food in the most organic of ways. And to pass on the knowledge to the youth. He extends an invitation to ponder this feeling further, and hopes that the revolving bass driven sounds hosted in this release musters the positivity in your day. . . When it's needed that is. . . Huge thanks to Roel Funcken for asking me to contribute to his new project "Dear of the Yog" - out now on Touched Music. 
Suddenly I find myself in the company of old IDM heroes like Plaid, Lusine, Ochre, Kettel and Funckarma plus lots of great acts I didn't even know of!
Igloo Magazine calls the album "an impacting assortment of some of the finest, ear-shattering IDM spheres of radiant experimental electronics". 
The album was released in order to “improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.”

Fine Cut Bodies - Dinner With Murdoch(Traim Edition)

The award winning and Gilles Peterson-approved Danish supergroup Kalaha returns with their first release in almost two years: the EP 'Mama Ngoma'. 

The EP is first and foremost a tribute to West African traditions like Highlife and Afrobeat but mixed with the dance floor appeal of contemporary electronic music. 

The backbone of the band comes from the outrageous drumming of Emil de Waal, who's improvisational attitude is known to astound audiences around the world, alongside the finely balanced guitar of Niclas Knudsen, who has been studying and refining African techniques for more than a decade now. 

On top of this, the two highly regarded electronic producers and synth wizards, Rumpistol & Spejderrobot, take the band to new musical hemispheres by adding layers through extra-terrestrial synths, analogue effects and spaced out samples. 

The electronic aspect of the EP is further expanded with two remixes from NYC-based MALAKAI and Danish rising star Bwoy de Bhajan. 

The EP is accompanied by an animated video directed by the group's art director Zven Balslev, and in the spring of 2019 follows an entire album titled 'Mandala'.

The EP kicks off with the catchy and highly danceable 'Mama Ngoma', which combines African mud huts with epic science fiction. We then reach the hypnotic horn attack of 'Cape Star', featuring wonderful guitar work from Knudsen, before the West Coast inspired 'Malaika' leads into an outro that’s like Talking Heads, if David Byrne was replaced by a Speak&Spell computer! 

Fourth track and first single 'Dragon Jenny' shows the band in more mellow and reflective territories without losing their groove. The track has already received airplay around the world. 

To finish things off we're proud to have the NYC-based producer MALAKAI present his dubsteppy anagram remix of 'Malaika', before rising star Bwoy de Bhajan spoils us with his minimalistic take on 'Cape Star', reminiscent of some of Shackletons earlier percussion-driven work.

“The Pale Horse” is the 4th and final installment in Bluetech's The 4 Horsemen of the Electrocalypse series. Ranging from dark detroit influenced electro and braindance to IDM and melodic techno explorations, this EP puts an endcap on the analog and modular based releases with the classic sounds of a 303 providing lead duties.

These 4 EPs reference the Biblical bringers of the Apocalypse. Drawing inspiration from the classic fantasy art of Moebius, Beksinki and Syd Mead, “The Pale Horse” dances around eschatological tropes with tongue firmly placed in cheek. Featuring gorgeous artwork from concept designer Justin Totemical, each release in the series will present a facet of the visionary prophetic current. 

“Emerging from a long period of creative drought and personal struggle, I was seeking a way to frame my own experience in a larger meta-narrative. Navigating through loss and painful transformation always feels apocalyptic, so I wanted to take the opportunity to not only frame my heartbreak in a larger context but also to really laugh at myself and experience the high drama of being human with a sense of humor. The Revelations of our little lives feel like the end of everything, and looking out of our windows of meat and bone we feel the ground rumble with the approach of the 4 Horsemen. 

On a larger scale, it’s easy to draw parallels between the realities of modern life and the harbingers of ‘the end’ in John’s symbolic vision of the end of the Roman Empire. We are in the grasp of a dying empire watching the destruction of our biosphere, and yet… every seed must go to ground before new life emerges. 

This series of releases is about watching it all burn with a smile, embracing the death of the self as an act of beauty in order to grow. By aligning my own story and our collective story with a prophetic vision of epic proportions, I was able to to regain my joy and (en)lighten my life.”

Gaudi follows up his critically acclaimed album “100 Years of Theremin (The Dub Chapter)” with a cover of Lee Perry's classic 'Bird in Hand' production.

Recorded on the 'Happy Roots' riddim, 'Bird in Hand' was Sam Carty's take on Naushad Ali's Hindi love song, 'Milte Hi Ankhen'. Here it’s re-titled ’Theremin In Hand’, with Gaudi playing the vocal line on the theremin, while Colin Edwin (of Porcupine Tree) plays bass and Horseman drums.

The track was originally going to be on the “100 Years” album, but a conversation with Adrian Sherwood while the duo were working together on Lee Perry’s “Rainford” album led them to the conclusion that it would be better to release it later as a single.

On the flip is a brand new Gaudi original, ’Theremin Memoir', which finds him channeling Serge Gainsbourg and Ennio Morricone in his homage to their 60’s and 70’s films. Colin Edwin again plays bass, with all other instruments are played by Gaudi.

Both tracks represent a continuation of the themes developed on the “100 Years” album, with Gaudi’s theremin riding the riddims in the same way that Augustus Pablo did with his melodica. The instrument’s other worldliness proves to be a perfect fit with reggae’s earthy roots, allowing the melodies to glide and float in harmony. Bandcamp called it a “match made in heaven”, Electronic Sound a “true triumph” and Culture Dub an “unlikely but undeniably successful union”.

'Theremin in Hand/Theremin Memoir' is the perfect accompaniment to '100 Years of Theremin (The Dub Chapter)', furthering Gaudi's tribute to Leon Theremin and his amazing instrument on its centenary.
