After the success of ‘A Is For Acid’ Perc Trax Ltd continues with the first ever collaboration between the London brutalist dream team of label boss Perc and regular Perc Trax artist Truss (R&S, Avian, OCS) for an EP of no-bullshit, hardware based techno. 

Three tracks, each recorded fully live in one take. No second attempts, no re-edits and no processing of the tracks after they were recorded. Add mastering by Matt Colton and you have one of Perc Trax's rawest releases so date. 

As with A Is For Acid the first pressing of this 12” will be on clear vinyl with a full colour double-sided artwork insert by Jonny Costello, who also created the artwork for Perc’s ‘Wicker & Steel’ and ‘Labour Division’ by Forward Strategy Group.

Dutch legend and Wolfskuil inner circle member Benny Rodrigues returns to the label for a fresh twelve. In the DJ booth he has no equal and established himself as one of the world’s premier selectors. Besides his ominous DJ skills, Benny has been making waves in the studio the last couple of years as well. Wether it be as ROD or under his own name, respected imprints worldwide have embraced and released his productions with eagerness. Klockworks, CLR, Drumcode and Desolat are just a few of the labels he can call home now.

Wolfskuil wouldn’t be Wolfskuil if we didn’t pick the ‘odd one’ of the litter. The Choice Is Mine might be the most freaked out & modulated excersize Benny has yet to unleash upon the world. No 4 bars in this mental trip are the same, ever evolving around a sequence that brings old 90’s warehouse techno to mind. 

A peaktime monster like this deserves a royal rework. Berghain resident, Dystopian head honcho and man of the moment Rødhåd happily agreed to give his own and unique vision on the original. The result is stunning, psychedelic and with a little unexpected surprise in the final part of his remix and compliments the original in a perfect. I just found out my remix of Tevo Howard's "Boing Pop" has been included - without my approval - on the Hed Kandi Beach House 2014 compilation. I usually feel honoured when my music is selected for these types of things but I mean Hed Kandi is this total horror-conglomerate that uses retarded imagery drawn straight from the sexual fantasies of horny twelve year old boys to pimp a very sad idea of house music to the masses, so this time I just feel depressed. What's worse is that the owner of Rebirth (the label who originally released my remix) edited the track - again without my approval - into something shorter and clumsier, completely fucking up the flow of the music. Please don't support this bullshit - if you like the tune, you can now download it (the real version) from my Soundcloud page, free of charge. Enjoy!

This week's FMM is from Jarreau Vandal, the Netherland's based member of the LA collective Soulection. It's a DJ edit he made with Mr Carmack, whilst the pair were out touring Asia together, with Jarred on the vocals. This is the first time, to date that Jarreau Vandal’s vocals have featured on a track. It's a soulful, R&B edit of Rihanna's 'James Joint' and it's great...

Ok this is an old story that started as a bootleg edit while back. I remember that as soon as I uploaded the edit on soundcloud I got so many reactions I decided to take it offline immediately and put it out on 12" (200 copies only, but then the bootleg got bootlegged, crazy...) But it never got a proper "clean" release, although we tried hard to clear it.
So, after replaying everything (thanks to Silver City, Sean Brosnan and Bob Benozzo), new vocals (courtesy of Jupiter), a killer new remix (by Spiller) and a great dj and label owner (Joey Negro)
It's finally dropping on Z Records UK and I made a new dub mix for the occasion. Check it out.

I have waited so long for this and now my dream has become true: Sade herself and Sony UK finally gave their okay to my secret edit so it is out now as an official Sade release on Get Physical // Poesie Musik and hits the stores on jan 16th 2015.

Poesie Musik has the very special honor to announce the release of a remix of a song known the world over, authored by no less than Sade. One of the prolific singer's most well-known creations, ‚Pearls‘ is given a deluxe makeover by German dance floor mainstay Timo Jahns, whose moody, melancholy personal sound fits perfectly with the sultry vocals on one of the crooner's most moving songs. 

Hailing from Göttingen, Timo Jahns has carved out a name for himself on the German party circuit thanks in part to an endless list of edited music and remixes on labels like Ponsactrilau, Underyourskin Records, Neverending, Cometomusic, Klang Gymnastik and 9Volt, as well as his own imprint FREUNDCHEN RECORDS, created for an intimate circle of few. 

This latest foray into the reworking of certain melodic masterpieces comes after Timo’s remixes of music by the likes of songstress Melody Gardot and Bon Iver just last year. For this special rendition of ‚Pearls‘, the producer has carefully lead the tune into deep-house terrains and turned it into a track just begging for summer afternoons and thoughtful chill-out sessions.
