La séptima entrega de  nuestra serie de podcast marca el primer aniversario de este projecto, y que mejor manera de celebrarlo que contar con la selección de uno de los de la casa, Sebastián Jaramillo aka @deepex-odyssey. 

Amante del vinilo y digger apasionado, tiene clara su visión de la música la cual ha evolucionado permaneciendo siempre fiel a los ritmos más subterráneos del house de Chicago, el sonido deepex español y más recientamente desempolvando joyas olvidadas del italo house y la música deep europea. 

En esta sesión precisamente nos comparte el resultado de horas de digging y nos lleva en un viaje por atmosferas espaciales, con un deep introspectivo que evoluciona a cada beat hacia sonidos frescos del Italo y breaks; un complemento perfecto entre el viaje mental y la pista de baile.

We are happy to present our 8th release, The Orange One, which is due to hit the shelves somewhere around the beginning of this summer! This  EP is signed by a young and really talented producer Clafrica. Originally from Catania, this cool dude is now residing in Edinburgh UK.

Theories is a Colombian visual artist and music collector with a wide selection of sounds ranging from ambient, leftfield, techno, electro, industrial to drum and bass. She is DJing since 2013. In the mix she did for us, every second shows the deep knowledge she has gained since then in regards to selecting the unusual. For Metamorphosen she created an ice-cool mix, where sliding through all kinds of genres and speeds sounds like the most natural thing in the world.
With her project @automagicalley, theories creates spaces to spread alternative forms of live music and art in Bogotá, making this big city an even more diverse and inspirational place for weirdo connoisseurs.

Metamorphosen 15 | theories

Taking his place in the great Swiss electronic tradition - peopled by the likes of Carlos Peron, Boris Blank and Grauzone, to name just a few - the Swiss DJ and producer Walid reaches new heights with his highly anticipated proto-techno project "Child of the Waves".
These 7 unreleased tracks could be the soundtrack of a B-movie thriller from the 80s. The compositions are full of imagery, using cinematic samples to stimulate the mind’s eye. He makes strong aesthetic moves, choosing to reinforce rather than attenuate the tension and intensity of his themes: the fear of the unknown, of getting lost and of loneliness; a rage for life and hedonism; and above all the darkness of the human psyche.
For me, his music recalls the atmosphere I experienced in Zurich in the 80s, sometimes icy, withdrawn, even hostile, but also in the image of Walid himself: reserved, mysterious yet also generous. It's all in his music! Just when you think you are in familiar waters, you listen a little more and realise you very much are not.
There's a je-ne-sais-quoi that makes things different and special in his compositions. They sit at the intersection of many genres and sound incredibly fresh to our ears.
After several well-received releases under his various aliases, many of us in this milieu were impatiently waiting for him to strike again and confirm the potential already revealed in his previous productions. With this new release, this has been achieved! For me, he is undoubtedly one of the best-kept treasures in the Swiss vaults and an artist to be watched very closely in the coming years.
