No one could have predicted just how well the repress of Nutty Bass and I'll Be There would do. I mean, one could throw out a number easily enough, but that's not REALLY a prediction. What it ACTUALLY ended up doing is....mindboggling.

So naturally, we had to get some remixes cooking, and tapped two of the KF Family's best to do the honours, the legendary Hyper-On Experience, and our secret weapon Ant To Be, who has been cranking out maximum quality remixes of classic oldskool tracks for as long as we have been repressing classic oldskool tracks. What can we say about Desired State? Their alter ego to Origin Unknown and an absolute force in the 90’s. Andy C & Ant Miles’s Hardcore roots grew into the emerging Jungle/Drum & Bass scene with huge success. Deep in the original RAM HQ archives was a DAT tape containing two tracks from 1992. Never before heard, let alone released, laid these breakbeat gems from the golden era of Hardcore. 27 years later they get a full master and release on Liftin Spirit Records that are sure to please collectors of Oldskool Hardcore and early Jungle alike.

Back In 1994, Ant Miles collaborated with DJ Rhythm from the Essex based underground station Cyndicut FM. They came up with the amen smasher ‘Cold Fresh Air’ which remains one of the biggest releases of that year. With the remix being signed to Moving Shadow their Higher Sense monicker had several further releases with MS. Natural High and Cascade were created the following year but the master DAT was lost and finally unearthed in 2019 for our 3rd, previously unreleased 12".

Tim Reaper makes his Lobster Theremin main label debut with a killer EP of jungle, DNB, and fast-paced soulful 4/4 techno.

London-based DJ/producer Tim Reaper is an artist whose output over the last few years has been nothing but spectacular, releasing record after record of huge jungle and breakbeat for labels such as 7th Storey Projects, Repertoire, Meditator Music and Parallax Recordings, as well as his own standout Globex Corp and Future Retro imprints. His latest outing ‘Cityscapes’ on Lobster Theremin delves deep into his core sound and influences, with head high jungle breaks alongside chest rattling bass and 2-step laden grooves. 

The A-side glides from the classic glacial synths and breaks on title track ‘Cityscapes’ to the euphoric pitched up techno-hardcore of ‘Sequence 2’. Flipping over and straight into the minor scale 80’s soundtrack arpeggiations of ‘Make It Real’, loaded up with a whole ton of rave tropes, fills and melodic flourishes. Rounding out the EP is the 4/4 jungle of ‘(I Can) Feel It’, a light drifting groove layered over with undulating kicks and ethereal 90’s synth. A low-key liquid ending to this tour de force four-tracker of UK jungle.
