Hailing from the southwest region of the United States, AMANI has been a unique fixture in the underground electronic music scene, seasoned by over two decades of studio production and performance. From his early days at remote desert gatherings, to his constant touring of clubs and music festivals with world renowned downtempo sensation Desert Dwellers, his career has traversed many musical styles and genres. Blending world music with cutting-edge sound design, Amani Friend has amassed an enormous catalog between his projects Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, and Variant Field. Traveling the international festival circuit and staying on the road with a jam-packed schedule, AMANI continues to bring his alchemy of ancient-future psychedelia to dance floors around the globe. Quantum Entanglement is one of the strangest phenomena in the Universe, overcoming barriers of space and time and knitting the entire cosmos into an integrated whole.

Fin Greenall (Fink, Sideshow) and myself Lee Jones (Hefner, MyMy) met at college in the early nineties and played a lot of chess to the soundtrack of Aphex Twin and Future Sound of London. Fin taught me the guitar. I taught Fin Cubase. We shared our first releases together as EVA on Kickin' Records, then Ninja Tune. I started a band, Hefner, while Fin was mainly a DJ. Then we switched. Fin became a singer-songwriter, I moved to Berlin and formed MyMy with Nick Höppner, then started to DJ.

We followed our own paths which have often crossed, remixing each other's music, helping each other with our writing, and releasing on Aus Music (which Fin started with Will Saul), but we've always wanted to really collaborate again.

Between my studio in Berlin, Fin's studio in Brighton, and various studios, hotels and airports around the world, that project has finally taken the shape of Quantum Entanglement. Two separate worlds linked by friendship and a feeling that goes back to those early days of ambient, dub, chess and incense, now made possible by the internet. Files, old tracks, samples and words are flying back and forth, eventually forming 2 versions of a song. Heads and Tails. Question and Response. Move and Counter-Move. The game has begun.

A few years ago, Moby (born Richard Melville Hall) decided that it was time for a change so he packed up and moved from his beloved New York to sunny LA. This fresh, new outlook permeates his 11th studio album, Innocents. One day, as the story goes, he was riding around town listening to “Morning Becomes Eclectic” on local radio station KCRW, and he heard a Damien Jurado song come on the air — and the rest is history.

“Originally, ‘Almost Home’ was a fully finished song,” recalls Moby. “But I love Damien’s approach to melody and lyrics so I gave it to him as an instrumental. What he did was much better than anything I’d come up with.”

Living In Satya

Here is a beautiful new tune which came into being quite spontaneously like a flash of noetic lightning in the wake of some beautifully serene experiences in Seattle and the Cascade mountains.

It was a lot of fun and a real honor to feature vocal contributions from my friends Theo and Amma (Entheo - https://soundcloud.com/entheo), as well as Theo's guitar and a few percussive samples from my friend Jules O'Keefe.

I haven't given out a new free track in a while, and I think this is a breakthrough and a new direction for me, so I am going out on a limb and allowing this tune to spread how it may, in good faith that it will touch as many lives as possible.
