Each year on June 21st the Summer Solstice, Sol Selectas releases the soundtrack of the season, with the annual Summer Sol compilation, featuring deep organic music from a collection of international Artists. 
 
This year Summer Sol VII features 26 tracks of feel good grooves ranging from downtempo, to afro, to organic, to deep, to tribal, to middle eastern, and more. We are pleased to present musicians from over 18 different corners of the world, including Ukraine, Palestine, France, Colombia, Italy, and Turkey to name a few.  We welcome 9 new artists to Sol Selectas, alongside 15 of our label favorites returning to bless us with their unique creative spirit.

Velvet is a modular composition built around a smooth electric piano loop, melodic guitar phrasing, and a laid-back bassline. Classic hip-hop drums — strong kick, crisp snare — pulse beneath ambient pads and stereo shimmer. Trance textures emerge through harmonic modulation, reverse reverb tails, and granular vocal FX. Vocal fragments loop with shimmer and restraint, blending lo-fi soul with ambient lift. The topline lyric “You move like rhythm / You breathe like light” anchors the arc, framing memory as groove and emotion as texture.

The remix arc reimagines the track as a cinematic fusion of lo-fi jazz phrasing, ambient trance overlays, and melodic restraint. Bass gains analog warmth and sidechain bounce, while percussion shifts to swung hi-hats and vinyl crackle. Vocals are reprocessed into looped fragments and ambient overlays, layered with shimmer FX and stereo bloom. Pads stretch into velvet warmth, supporting a breakdown–fade structure with harmonic softness and rhythmic clarity.

Engineered for late-night sets, cinematic sync, and remix reinterpretation, Velvet is a high-concept release designed for modular phrasing, visual overlays, and emotionally warm edits.

This is the first episode of Lightcast series dedicated to the very special kind of music which still has no unique name.  The 1st episode prepared by N.Volkova.

The search for <a href="https://soundcloud.com/djnvolkova" rel="nofollow">N.Volkova (Nastya Volkova)</a> began with the study of various musical genres. Having researched many genres, Nastya felt the lack of the ideas and soul in current electronic music. Becoming a resident of Come-In Cultural Center, she organizes a series of music podcasts called VAP and conducts experiments with the combination of electronica and live instruments (such as trumpet, flute, harp, didgeridoo and djembe). As a result of all the experiments she finds multicultural downtempo and finally stops her search. Combining everything she has been looking for for so long - this genre presents the soul of live instruments and the vibe of electronic music. From this point she organizes a new promo team Tribe and a series of events Ritual by Tribe. Being the chief of this team, Nastya also performs at various venues of Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia, as well as on the islands Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, Thailand.
Nastya calls her music style as organic vibes. It's downtempo up to 115 bpm, but when she is performing with the Roland TR-8 rhythm machine, the sound is getting so vibrant and dynamic that it is just impossible not to dance. In the mixtapes, she sends the listener to travel around the world, each time revealing its new facets.

original music - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94LZcum8tCE              ryukyu Underground (琉球アンダーグラウンド, Ryūkyū Andāguraundo) is an electronic music duo, consisting of Keith Gordon and Jon Taylor, whose music is heavily based on and inspired by traditional Okinawan folk music.
The duo's music blends Okinawan folk songs with Western dance music and dub, and they often collaborate with native Okinawan singers and other musicians. Though their music may at times sound like a DJ's mix of dance tracks with min'yō tracks, it consists mostly, if not entirely, of compositions composed, performed and recorded as original, new pieces. It may draw extensively from traditional lyrics, tunes, and chords, it is never simply mixed from pre-existing recordings by other artists, and always includes considerable original elements. The pair started out incorporating vocals and other elements via sampling, on later albums and other releases they have worked directly with Okinawan artists, recording vocals and other elements live in the studio. The duo has released four albums, and their music has been included in Buddha Bar compilation albums and used on a variety of television programs, documentaries, and other media.

Though questions could be raised about Westerners appropriating Okinawan music, the duo's reception in Okinawa by locals has been described as "ecstatic". The duo first tested their music in dance clubs in Okinawa, and were well received, the natives even dancing traditional kachashi dances to it. In an interview in 2003, Taylor expressed that "we are both sensitive to the fact that Okinawan music is an important part of Okinawan culture, and we certainly don't want to disrespect it or commercialize it in a cheap way for profit. However, I'm confident we haven't done either."

Taylor cites Rinken Band, the Nenes, and Champloose, the leading bands of the 1970s Uchinaa pop boom, among the duo's influences. Just as those bands took up electric guitar and other "modern" instruments and sought to replicate the traditional folk songs, so Taylor notes that he and Gordon saw potential in doing something similar using computer equipment.
