Dub Selector Bio

Juan Pablo Penedo a.k.a. Dub Selector is a Guatemalan producer, DJ, audio engineer, musician and self-taught electronics enthusiast, that’s been on the scene since 2004. Juan Pablo is considered to be a pioneer in the guatemalan scene for helping introduce reggae and dub music  as a musician, dj and radio host, better known as "Dubby Dub", who later on moved into  the drum & bass scene changing his name to Dub Selector.

He hosted the first fm dub radio show in Latin America (Dub Sessions) for 3 years on the local Radio Infinita. Also, he is a founding member of one of the biggest drum & bass crews in the region, Bass Supremacy. He also worked as a recording engineer for two of the best recording studios in Guatemala.

In recognition of his work as an artist, he has been invited to open for many international artist including: Stanton Warriors (UK), Julian Marley (UK), Easy Star All-Stars (NY), Jacky Murda (USA), Kenyatta Hill (JAM), Pure Feeling (BRA), Nonpalidece (ARG), Cultura Profética (PR), Dread Mar I (ARG), Fidel Nadal (ARG), David Boomah(UK), Metaztaz (FR), Dj Noface (LA), Krak in Dub (FR), Isaac Maya (MX), Mubali (USA), amongst others.
He has also been invited to play several international festivals in Central America.

From the Mayan region of Guatemala in Central America comes Pablo Saravia a.k.a. Shamanoid with his ritual-oriented Power Psytrance. Producing this genre since 2008, Shamanoid has developed his sound based on teachings from shamanism and occult sciences such as kabbalah. His first EP "Power Ally" was released by D.A.R.K. Records in 2009 gaining attention from the psytrance public for the first time. His "ever-changing" style is easily recognized on the dancefloor. Solid baselines gently mixed with ritualistic trance-inducing rhythms based on holograms from an ethereal (yet perceptible) neighboring dimension guide this producer towards the next steps of Psytrance's evolution…the next generation is arriving and Shamanoid has been shaking the dancefloor since his music started to enter this physical dimension, translating the sounds from worlds beyond. A recorded Live Act under the name "As above, so below" appeared during 2010 showing his unique style.  Co-founder of the Fraktal Krew, emblematic guatemalan Psytrance collective, various Shamanoid tracks were released in different compilations by the end of 2011 including Helicon Sound System's "Odyssey" and Akashik Records' "Engrams-TheTrilogy". Shamanoid leaked his second EP "Forsaken Souls" through the internet in early 2012 with the support of Ohm Ganesh Pro Records. With this release, the first "larva" stage of the Shamanoid project was completed. This means that by acquiring enough knowledge (technically and energetically) is then possible to provide a more stable platform in this physical dimension for the holographic influx that will then be transduced into vibratory energy, music by the end of the process.

Francis Davila DJ/Music Producer based in Los Angeles, California, with more than 25 years in the industry he is one of the pioneers of the electronic music scene in latin america. He has been voted as part of DJ Mag Top 100 Djs in 2011 and 2012, reaching number 77 and 63. In three other occasions he has been voted in the Dj Mag Top 150 Djs, being the most recent in 2016 reaching number 123. In 2017, Francis was nominated as Best Latinamerican Dj by EMPO, along side Deorro, Carnage and FTampa. He has had multiple releases in international labels since 2004. Labels like Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit, Sony and Universal have signed his tracks. In 2010 he independently released SHINE, his first album, which featured six number 1 singles in various radios in the region, reaching high levels of popularity. His single RISE in 2015 was a complete success, its video was featured in regular programming in MTV. He has played in several festivals around the world, sharing decks with artists like Tiesto, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Showtek, Alesso, Sebastian Ingrosso, Timmy Trumpet, Borgore, etc. and he has played in important clubs around the globe in countries like Brazil, USA, India, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru. 2018-2020 have been great for Francis, he has had successful releases on Sony, Universal, Uprise and Empo, like Good Times that had its video programmed in VH1. Recently he has played in important festivals like EDC Mexico.

Outta Guatemala City Central America, TOKEN SELEKTA has been one of the original founders of the JUNGLIST MOVEMENT in his area, by pushing and promoting this sound for almost 15 years now.

In 2003 started a Reggae & jungle based crew called RYTHM SELEKTAS which helped him to push further Jungle, D&B sounds in the region, later on in 2011 co-founded BASS SUPREMACY the most renowned all around BASS MUSIC event promoters/djs crew in Guatemala, the only ones to bring international acts to their events such as ISAAC MAYA, NO FACE, JACKY MURDA, KRAKINDUB, DAVID BOOMAH, to mane a few.

During 2011 had a release of two tracks with LOW FREQ Mexican label run by ISAAC MAYA, later same year released ANY SOUND TEST DEAD (10 track LP) with REIGN SUPREME DUBZ INT. based in Los Angeles CA. …  by early 2013 started to get UK radio support, online and FM radio such as KANE FM, ORIGIN UK, ROUGH TEMPO, KOOL LONDON, BASS JUNKEES, RAIDERS RADIO. Late 2013 two new releases under RIQ YARDROCK Think Me Did Done Remix UK based label run by MARVELLOUS CAIN and 119 SOUND USA side of YARDROCK, Yardrock Movement EP.

Now he have many releases lining up for a variety of jungle record labels, so keep him on your radar cause 20 + Jungle tracks from him are alredy doing damage on dancefloors and radio around the world and are about to hit the shops real soon.
