The GRAMMY-winning engineer for Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, Tchad Blake said: "Strange Part of the Country is an awesome album! I still listen to it."

Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green liked Conil's music so much he stopped by Conil’s house to record with him. They recorded a version of Conil's homage to the jazz greats "Round Midnight". 

Strange Part of the Country never conformed to any current trends and has remained timeless. Now, people are discovering this album and it is becoming an all-time favourite. 

When the album was released in the UK, it received some amazing press. Britain's biggest selling music monthly Q magazine gave it: "Four stars - Q Recommends". Blues Matters magazine wrote: "One of the most original artists out there". In the next issue, Blues Matters put him on the front cover.

Conil left London after Strange Part of the Country was released and has spent the last ten years living in the United States and Europe - including New Orleans, New York City, and Berlin.

Weird and wonderful is the name of the game - a musical journey out from the Tea-Snuggery - way off mainstream: impulsive, spontaneous, demanding - hopefully never boring!

:(:/:) aka ThreeEmoji, is Tom Bossert. Born in 1976, his musical journey quickly led him to electronics. From Kraut Rock and bands like Cluster, Can and Kraftwerk in his youth, to the early 90’s with the start of the techno movement and club culture in Germany. His sets have always pulled on this progression, never purely one thing or the other.
One of his major influences is DJ Marcelle from Amsterdam, and her way of breaking conventions. Music is a world phenomenon and so its output should reflect this. Just like a nervous Zen master on tenterhooks, waiting for the very last sound, impulsive but deeply circumspect, it should bring together everything in a Jackson Pollock-like manner. For Tom, spontaneity and improvisation are always more important than perfection.

Lih Qun (Lihla) is a composer, electronic producer and musician. Originally from Australia, she now resides in Berlin. She explores the full percussive and lyrical range of the cello, drawing on sound effect worlds created through electronic production and vocal textures, her sets travel through complex aural-hallucinatory worlds of intricately shifting landscapes. Her live sets (under the artist name Lihla) combine cello, piano, synths, vocals and storytelling and looping to create a truly immersive and dream like journey.
