The always interesting Mexican label NUFF MUSIC finally starts its 2022 season! For the 12th EP of the acclaimed imprint, Madrid-based artists Rams & Ivan De La Rouch (FREEDL022/032) teamed up again – the lads have already had previous collaborations released on Espacio Cielo and Golden Soul Records. This time, they bring to life “Diskobrute”, a mighty and cosmic Indie Dance-inclined single featuring fat remixes by Azaria (SXDNS076 as Dirt Track, a duo formed along with Javier Busto) and Disco Mortale, the new alter ego of Daniel Monaco (SXDNS137/FREEDL006). Premiered here, the latter’s contribution, by the way.

If Daniele Labbate tends to explore more his Italo Disco influences when he releases under his main and most prolific moniker, Daniel Monaco, as Disco Mortale he leans into the realms of EMB, Techno/Disco hybrid sounds and Acid vibes. For his interpretation of “Diskobrute”, DM kept the main elements of the original but blended them with more robust and darker ingredients, such as an obscene bassline, a boisterous synth layer, and ominous vocals, resulting in another top-notch piece from this essential artist.

Picadilly`s review:

Return of the mighty Jack Pattern on the highly collectable Lustapoderosa label. A lot like the world we currently occupy, Jack Pattern's sound heads darker on this release, recalling distant memories of dystopian nuclear wastelands, Total Recall-esque interplanetary life and the rise of AI machines. With a hefty collection of vintage drum boxes and weighty analogue synthesizers, the EP throbs and hums in all the right places, with UnknownMix singer Magda Vogel's vocals really doing the track on "Codex". Fans of that dark, electroid sound from Borft, Frak and Tillander will love this, as will general lovers of EBM and new beat. It's discordant but harmonious, jagged and mechanical but rhythmic and enveloping. It's absolutely brilliant but definitely not for the faint hearted!

B3 Jack Pattern - XCODE

Italian Nu Disco artist Tulioxi arrives on @NightNoiseMusic with a fantastic new three tracker.

@Tulioxi has put out more than 30 releases in his career. Releasing on an array of labels whilst also running his own in Cosmic Sumo Recordings. Furthermore, he is a developer of the MEFF Modular Synth Exhibition in Florence. As such his hardware sounds are full of texture and feeling as this new EP proves.

These three tracks are the result of a blend of the major influences that have characterised Tulioxi's musical DNA, from the seventies up to the present day. From the streets of New York, its gangs, the dirt and the funk.

Post disco and new wave fusionists Marcello Carozzi and Francesco Mingrino are @YoungerThanMe, and they bring their retro flavours to a second remix of ‘You Are Bad Luck.’ It’s a late night cruiser with silky synths and old school 80s flavours that add up to a deeply cosmic trip.

With this EP Night Noise Music prove they are leading the way when it comes to essential modern disco.

Ton Globiter aka Dominique joins Roam Recordings with his debut EP 'Equilibrium'. Dark electronics, moving rhythms, and crafty synth stylings characterize this excellent release from the Lithuanian based producer. Ton Globiter (under the moniker Dominique) first caught the attention of Roam Recordings with his Erosion single offered as a free download and featured by Lithuanian music blog WhyPeopleDance. A perfect match for the label, Roam Recordings picked up two new originals from the up and coming artist that are presented here.

The EP is backed by two superb remixes from Connor and K-Effect. Connor, who has been prolific lately on labels such as Nein and Esthetique Records, delivers a masterful workout with his sublime driving remix of the title track Equilibrium. After their successful 'No Smoke' EP, K-Effect returns to Roam Recordings to bring an alluring psychedelic deep and hypnotic remix of Hocus Pocus.

Together the four mixes offer a solid EP of slightly left field dance music from artists on the rise.

"The Music of the Secret Society that Owns Belgrade - Volume 2" is second in the series of compilations by Inverted Spectrum Records that aims to capture and promote the unique underground music scene of Belgrade and its environs. The compilation series is planned to continue on an annual basis with a revolving cast of bands and musicians, and with a festival to celebrate the launch of each album. This year's two-day festival will be held at Kulturni Centar Grad, on March 13 and 14, 2019.

The original I’m Wild, Oh I See was part of REPVII released in 2017. Remixed by Id!r and Theus Mago. They gave the track a more dancefloor orientated feel. The two Remixers met and became friends back in 2014 in Paris. This is a swift and thunderous collaboration between the two, made in Theus studio in Mexico City. Theus Mago is the alter ego of Mexican producer Mateo González.

As the couple walked their normal path home they couldn't help but look over their shoulders. It was eerily silent, almost too silent. They hadn't seen a passer by since they began their journey. Perhaps it was just paranoia or their imagination working on overdrive, but it felt as though someone or something was lurking in the shadows...

Berlin-based imprint Ombra International's next V/A release welcomes five talented producers from around the world. International by name, international by nature. Exploring electronica, EBM, rock and everything in between, the release features offerings from Slovenia, Russia, Mexico, Belgium and our pick from Indonesian producer Arvin Fajar. Opener "In The Shadows" creeps along slowly, flaunting epic guitar twangs and weaving together influences from EBM, dark disco and new wave.

This Album, a child of the Shelter Me Festival in December 2020, is in Aid of Shelter UK and the wonderful work they do to helping people with homelessness or difficult housing conditions.
The Festival took place over 3 days, across the 3 cities of Manchester, London and Leeds, and several of the artists who performed live at the event have contributed to this production too.
The track used for the project is entitled Shake Up Your Mind by Steady State which contains a vocal sample of Ofra Haza from her song entitled Im Nin Alu. All remixes were created with the greatest love and respect, with one common goal, to help others less fortunate than ourselves through music, unity and genuine will to make a positive change.
Each and every one of the artists, producers and mastering services have generously given their time freely to create a unique album of 21 remixes, spanning a colourful musical spectrum from Dense Dark Dubbiness, through Timeless Techno and Uplifting Acid, to Squelchy Squalid Chuggers.
This is a limited release with all proceeds going the Shelter Uk.
