DIGITAL TEST Vol. I – V.A. is the first release in a new series of exclusive digital projects.

For this inaugural compilation, 27 artists come together under the minimalist spectrum that defines Bohrium. Some are already part of the Family, while others are making their debut here.

The release moves between hypnotic grooves, broken beats, and raw textures, while also exploring more experimental directions beyond Bohrium's most recognizable sound.

Releasing in 2025, DIGITAL TEST Vol. I lays the groundwork for this new project that will continue to develop throughout 2026, marking a new creative phase for the label.

Presented as a deluxe 6 x 12" box set with a silver foil cover and paper insert with individual sleeves and luminescent paint, this is a suitably spectacular collection that pays homage to one of techno's finest operations.
20 years is a long time in any facet of life, but in techno it is eons. The genre evolves so quickly that staying relevant for even half that time is some achievement, so to still be recognised as one of the genre's most iconic and influential labels after such an extended period is testament to the vision of its founder Sven Väth. The popular character, much loved DJ and always innovative creative force started out with an early rave techno sound back in the late eighties that he has steered into much broader realms ever since.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK: VHYCE

City streets left abandoned, desolate factories and traffic lights aimlessly
switching from red to green without a single car in sight to see them change.
These are just some of the haunting images that characterize what the postindustrial
city of La Louviere looks like. This seems a daunting context to live
in, yet there is a certain atmosphere that you can't find in any other city.
Let's take Vhyce as an example. This Portuguese-Italian breed steadily
worked his way up to a noteworthy musical profile. Inspired by the
desolation in these suburbs, or by the boredom, he grew into a self-taught
producer. Musically, Vhyce is greatly influenced by the lineage of nineties
RNB from the emergence of soul music onwards, which ultimately results in
his signature house sounds!
In 2010 he had his nationwide breakthrough by releasing his debut EP,
'Voivodine', on the respected Australian imprint Sweat it Out. Ever since, he
is continuously taking the underground music scene by storm by releasing
EP’s on a regular basis. In only a few years he built an impressive
discography, with releases on first-rate labels such as No Brainer records,
Dikso and Sweat it Out. He’s currently signed to the London’s
‘Future Disco’ label.

Orlando Voorn remains one of the most significant producers and dj's of a generation having released a sprawling catalogue of material across almost thirty years. In the 90's his focus was placed on techno and purpose built club tracks, this is perhaps what he is best known for. However, in between this there have been explorations into IDM, House and beyond with endless monikers fulfilling his creative aspirations. The Living Room, Format, Fix, Baruka and The Nighttripper are but to name a very few.

Orlando Voorn played a pivotal role in the emergence of Detroit techno in Holland - he pioneered a sound which evolved in the underground communities of the US and helped bring it to life overseas. Collaborations with the likes of Blake Baxter and Juan Atkins cemented this further.

In the present he remains an unsung hero of the underground, still furiously releasing music at a relentless pace. His latest outing is on Kompakt and showcases his longstanding relationship with old school electro and Detroit techno in fine form.
