But boy she played me tried and true, until there was no bone to chew

Since he walked out of that Applebees, my Nachos on his dungarees
Crying in the backseat, like some pigeon in that taxi

Found his six-pack in the fridge and, tuned right back into that pigeon, 
And by refrigerator light, I drank that beer with all my might..
My church and my religion.. on the floor of my damn kitchen

I've seen it in the movies, how that far off look gets to me,

And leaves me in an Applebees, or in my kitchen on my knees

And  now we both are cynics, we're each our own worst critics
