Canson (@canson) presents ‘Wanderjahre‘ Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.131

Für unsere Nr. 131 haben wir einen ganz besonderen musikalischen Geschichtenerzähler an Land gezogen, der mit seinen emotionalen und harmonischen Sets stets für die ganz besonderen, nämlich entspannten Momente sorgt.

Die Rede ist von Canson welcher mit bürgerlichem Namen Amar Derradj heißt. Der Schweizer Producer ist seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit dabei. Wir schreiben das Jahr 1993 als Canson die Bühne des unendlichen Kosmos der elektronischen Musik betrat. Neben vielzähligen Auftritten in Zürich wurde er schnell über die Grenzen hinaus bekannt. Knappe 10 Jahre später folgte schließlich seine erste Veröffentlichung auf Handheld. Was 2002 reduziert mit Minimal und House begann (Itsudemo EP), gewann in den nachfolgenden Jahren immer mehr an Wärme, Tiefe und Melodie. Releases auf URSL, Katermucke, Cityfox und Handheld, um mehr einige zu nennen, schmücken seine bisherige Discografie und sind Beleg seiner Vielseitigkeit. Als Teil der ehemaligen Bar 25-Crew erlebte er so ziemlich alles, was das Leben als Künstler bietet. Nämlich Höhen und Tiefen. Gerade diese Erfahrungen spiegeln sich in seiner Art und Weise wie er Musik in Szene setzt.

Stilistisch bietet sein Set eine schöne Mischung aus verträumten Klangarrangements, sphärischen Tiefgängen und für Ihn typischen keta lastigen Parts, die im Gesamten zu einer faszinierenden Reise durch die Wanderjahre verschmilzt. 
Angereichert wird die Aufnahme zudem mit einigen kommenden Neuerscheinungen. Daher wird es dieses Mal keinen Download geben.

Canson presents 'Wanderjahre' Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.131

Lily Ray started her journey as a musician in the early 2000s as a rock drummer in San Francisco bands Two Seconds and Elephone. She performed at major festivals such as SXSW and BFD, and released albums on  the labels Popsmear Records and Talking House Productions.

After moving to New York in 2008, Lily has continued to perform in various indie rock bands while also finding opportunities to transition her music production into the electronic music community. This evolution ultimately led her towards learning how to DJ, a logical transition after a lifetime of creating and perfecting unique rhythms. 

She now brings her deep, dancey DJ sets to venues around New York City, including clubs such as The Panther Room, the Tribeca Grand, TBA Brooklyn, Bizarre, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and many underground parties. She also has a monthly residency at the popular East Village club, Keybar. 

Lily is currently experimenting with incorporating live electronic drumming into her productions. The great-grand-niece of the artist Man Ray, she is hugely inspired philosophy and way of life presented by the Dada movement, and channels this through all of her musical pursuits.
