❄️❄️ We’re blessed this month to be welcoming two exciting guests to the dis.orient @threadsradio show ❄️❄️ 

We’re gassed to have producer, sound designer and Amsterdam native Mob Killa (@mob-killa) on job for our first guest mix. Producing and releasing music under Mob Killa and his alias Monkeys&Demons, his love of obscure music and jazz bleeds into his jaunty system shakers. With some top notch releases already on respected imprints like @rarefied_uk, @cue-line-records and 9Rambos (https://9rambos.bigcartel.com), we're excited to see what else is in store!
 
We also welcome Turin based producer, DJ and @earlyreflex label boss Alec Pace (@alecpace) to the show. He combines syncopated beats and hyper-effected percussion with field recordings and organic sound design. With previous releases on the likes of @nous-disques and All Centre (https://instagram.com/all_centre), his latest EP ‘Collider/Juno’, out via his own imprint, shows his eclectic and ever-evolving style.

The show is hosted by dis.orient resident Smog (@smog_city), getting the ball rolling and providing a splattering of tunes to round it all off..  🧳 .. Enjoy the trip ✈️

dis.orient w/ Mob Killa, Alec Pace & Smog

There is a special type of tape found in music collections everywhere, the ones that are personally recorded by hand, with someone or something special in mind. These tapes are cherished from start to finish both by the creator and the recipient, a unique sonic gesture. 
We are delighted to have one such specimen to share with you now on Limbo tapes, for the first time.

So press play and enter this thoughtful presentation of playful, cinematic and spaced out dub imaginings. 
Side A introduces you to the kind of soundscape elements that make up the trilogy, guiding you through upbeat and lifelike signal paths of rhythm and melody, including more reflective and drawn out attitudes.    Flip to side B as the mysterious side of Troyer’s dub behaviour continues, surrounded by the pensive flurry of creature-esque electronics. 
Two versions of the heavy and meditative “Deadlock” featuring Studio One musician Vin Gordon, demonstrate steady rocking composure too. The pace increases through dizzying moments and chaotic insights into the textural possibilities of cables and stomp boxes. And, like any good mixtape, leaves you feeling reflective, more experienced, and closer to that special someone or something than you had ever expected.
