After seven years since the last album ''Mindset'', a new album by The Urban District is released under our label called ''Driftbox''. Like the previous one, the main theme of the dub sound is kept but this one is more refined. There is a bit more uplifting sound, more groove is inserted, few short vocals in some tracks and a different atmosphere which we are hearing with more pads and chords merging together. From the first track Driftbox 1 to Driftbox 10 you can hear a full and complete connection between songs.

The album is starting with an ambient reprise dub sound, setting the tone for the next ones that follows. Driftbox 2 plays the introduction track with deep house sound, Driftbox 3 follows the deep house sound and pushing a bit of rhythm, Driftbox 4 and 5 turns in to ambiance of melody and deep feelings, with more pads around and short vocals. Driftbox 6 and 7 comes back again with deep flow and pushing more techno side in Driftbox 8. At Driftbox 9, the ambiance and atmosphere is coming back while Driftbox 10 track plays the same role as first one, but in reverse, that of a closing reprise track.

The Urban District - Driftbox (Album)

Release number 53 follows Forteba debut EP on Limitation Music. In 2016 he did a remix for the Rory Cochrane track called Focus and now is releasing Dubby Monday EP with remixes from Addex, BDTom and Specdub. With releases on labels like Plastic CIty, Spring Tube, Nite Grooves, DeepStitched, etc., he has established as a very versatile deep house producer.

The original track has a laid-back deep house style to it, with a wide range of dub techno sounds, warm pads and constant rhythm. Addex remix brings a clearer version with deep sounds sliced it in the middle by a very short uplifting break. The BDTom remix gives his dub techno style and keeps sounds from the original track in a similar laid-back style, while the last remix from SpecDub goes full techno style with less melody and a strong kick.

Forteba - Dubby Monday (Addex Remix)

After last year Brainwash EP, Koala has this year a new release called Gloom Metropolis. Following a bit of Brainwash 3 track ep sound, he delivers on this ep two tracks which gives a more progressive rhythm in a different key format that the ones he released previously. Gloom Metropolis and North Wind Blow, keeps his trademark sound close to a perfectly arranged sound with nostalgic pads and chords around.

For Gloom Metropolis track, the remix is delivered by The Urban District (alias of Addex), in which the sound is different from original, the dub style is present and the feeling of mistery dissolve in the track progression. With a few elements from the original, the remix keeps it simple and very bold in a dub way.

Created in August 2014 by Addex, Limitation Music is an ambient/dub/deep house record label, who is focusing mostly on blending these three genres into one, creating a good atmosphere of sounds, a slow constructive rhythm and offering a sound comfort, all incorporated into a warm and soft feeling. We are heading into a zone of deep house genre where dub techno has been recently expanding and rise into the electronic scene, giving the audience an intelligent sound.
