Having shared stages with names like Bonobo, Aim, The Bays and Giles Peterson it’s about time Outlook got this interesting Scottish Band down.
Combing jazz with cinematic emotions the four piece band draw influence from Radiohead, Madlib, Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. As well as two live drummers the band trigger live samples and use live instrumentation on Cello and Brass. Their debut album ‘Night Walks’ was funded by the Scottish Arts Council and features guest appearances from distinguished Scottish musicians. Released on Brighton based label Tru Thoughts, ‘Night Walks’ shows off energetic originality unlike any other band.

Dan is a composer/sound designer from Manchester UK.  Working in theatre sound design and composition, mixing and studio production.

His music often has a haunting beauty and elegance.  He is rarely without a recording device or microphone likes to work with found sounds in his music.  Many tracks will start from an idea that didn't make it into a job he was working on, but which captured his imagination, these ideas then get taken on and transformed into some of tracks you hear here.

Music composed professionally could be an a wide range of styles, and are composed to meet the specific productions needs and feel.

When not writing music his other favourite pastime is writing about himself in the third person
