Lim Vs Rascal is a new hardstyle partnership made up of DJ Rascal and Lim Hardstyler. We create a raw sounding hardstyle and try to steer clear of the 'hands in the air' anthem sound.

Rascal has 15 years’ experience DJ'ing the harder styles, inland and international at the highest level. He is educated and experienced in music production and sound engineering on many different platforms.

Lim is completely self-taught on production and engineering. Helped along the way through the advice of others, artists like James Brierley (Nutty T - UK) and Peter Baslam (MiddleThinkr - Germany) have been a massive influence and have assisted him in shaping his sounds. 

Our main influences stem from gabber and hardstyle throughout the years. Current artists that influence our style are Donkey Rollers, Crypsis, Noisecontrollers, Psyko Punkz, Brennan Heart, Thera and the Theracords artists, Wildstylez, Zany, Coone, Alphaverb, Michel Pollen, The Machine, Zatox, Isaac, Nosferatu, Endymion, Promo, The Predator, Angerfist and more.

Currently we are working on Cubase for the PC. Productions are created using the Access Virus Ti, Roland SH-201, and a whole bunch of soft synths including our favourites, Z3ta, Massive, V-Station, Hydra, Sytrus and Kontact. All tracks are blasted through a pair of KRK Rokit 8 studio monitors.

We like to create our own sounds from scratch as we are not fans of rinsing samples. Our kicks, stabs, bass lines and screeches are custom built by us to suite our style without the need of outside engineers (we are proud of the fact that we make our own music).
