Washington D.C.'s Meso Creso family was kind enough to invite us to play their first festival. The Nomadico weekend was full of good vibes and open minds despite some challenging weather. We had a blast going into the deep reaches of afro-latin house under Meso Creso's bayt and a full moon. Listen close and you might catch a future Sol Power Sound release in the mix as well as some jewels from our back catalog.

Lagartijeando is the name of producer, musician and DJ Mati Zundel. Born, raised and currently living in a small town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires called Dolores. Strongly influenced by his travels through Latin America, Mati’s signature psychedelic dance tracks latch onto everything from traditional folk sounds from the Bolivian altiplano to the jungle beats of Brazil.

Mati hypnotically fuses his traditional influences (with an emphasis on shaman chant and charango loops) with contemporary electronic beats, creating a sound that once left NPR speechless.

Freshly into 2017, Mati brings us El Gran Poder via Wonderwheel— named after an important Aymara festival that takes place in Bolivia and Peru, purely to celebrate family. At these festivals, the community also celebrates their culture and the importance of the collective identity. The album was recorded in Mati’s town, Dolores, outside of Buenos Aires. Once again taking a huge variety of sounds— this time influenced by Brazilian house, afro-brazilian rhythms, and folkloric Andean music.

Lina Luv’s intention in performance is to share the positive musical vibrations that move her heart, soul, and body.  She sees music as healing, dancing as a primal expression of joy and celebration of life, and DJ’ing as the conduit for that healing transmission!  Her selections traverse genres and cultures and dance between the rhythms of folk in its variety of global origins: Balkan, Middle Eastern, Latin & South American, Indian and African.  

Lina Luv is very clear that this music is not hers but that of the ancestors’ bloodlines.  Her sharing of their music is her prayer to those indigenous peoples and the lineage of their music: she intends that the voices and souls of these cultures and traditions be heard through their eternal vibrations. Lina Luv is in service to the feminine offering of this music and the communion of love, music, and dance that it inherently brings, connecting people together. 

Lina Luv’s 15-year DJ history in Philadelphia has been blessed with many opportunities to produce her own events and open for infamous local and national talent at some of the most respected music venues in Philadelphia including (more recently):  World Café Live, Fluid, Silk City, The Arts Garage, The Blockley, Underground Arts, and The North Star where she opened for Beats Antique.  Since beginning her journey with PEX (The Philadelphia Experiment) in 2006, Lina Luv and her spicy global beats have become a darling in The Philadelphia Experiment community, and she has been blessed with many opportunities to connect and commune with people through the beat.  

In New York, she has graced the decks of the “Love That Fever” and Chemistry parties:  some of the most sought-after underground Burning Man-inspired events.

Lina Luv co-hosts Feet Active, a party at Studio 34 Yoga in West Philadelphia, where Yoga (with live musicians or DJ's), homemade vegan cupcakes, and a booty-shakin dance party all come together to fundraise for various local community projects.  

Lina Luv is inspired by, present to, and in love with the beauty that surrounds her everywhere in her life!  In addition to her musical outlets, she also expresses this inspiration through her joyful wombifestation of her healing arts practice (Acupuncture), facilitating transformational workshops, and exploring nature.
