Music maturity came swiftly for Kelman Hakime, better known as "One Up". At the age of 17, the young British South African capped off a 5 year dream when he received his first gig.

"One Up" is known for his lively and high energy stage performance that helps connect the crowd to his music. "One Up" is passionate about music and the best way to express the way he feels is by DJing.

At the young age of 11 Kelman was introduced to vinyls. He played around on them and was extremely attached. Although Kelman had always dreamnt of pursuing his career and taking it to the next level he felt it was some what impossible and one in a million chance and never tried.

At the age of 13 Kelman would play at friends house parties and small gatherings. From there he stopped DJing and began hosting events and getting involved in the Cape Town events. Kelman had been doing a bit of producing in his spare time. At the age of 17 Kelmans life had changed.

Kelman was in a band however there was a fall out and his band broke up. Kelman was devastated but was contacted by world class superstar Krewella stating that he must not give up on his dreams and they said and i quote "no matter which Fucker tells you that you cant, you prove them wrong". It was at this moment that Kelman sat up all night staring at this message.

Kelman nervously started Calibration on July 21st 2014. He was extremely worried about what people were going to think and how their reaction would be. After speaking to top local icons and getting their advice Kelman kicked his career off.

Calibration started off at House parties and slowly worked his way up the ranks. At times it was rough but having so much support from his family and close friend Nic Dean Burger he pushed through and received his first gig at break out u18 event.

Calibration received bookings from event planners and was constantly being asked when either his next track will be out or when he is available to play at an event. He performed at practically every club in Cape Town and for majority of the U18 events. He also went on a tour to Durban,East London and Plett.

After about a year Kelman decided that it was time to re-launch and put Calibration behind him. This procedure was very hard for Kelman however he felt he needed to do this. With lots of support from Intentional acts and massive local acts, "One Up" was born.

One Up strives to entertain the whole crowd and to portray his original music to millions. One Up guarantees a huge amount of hype for when he performs and quality mixing and tracks.

He is truly honored and thankful for all his support and will continue to put the dance floor alive. He's supported by many local artists and some of the most word class DJ's and Producers internationally.

Calibration's main fan base was u18, however One Up strives to pursue a fan base of u18s and o18s. He also strives to pursue an intentional fan base.

One Up has exciting events coming up( Tours, Festivals ect.) and huge plans for future Record labels.
