It’s been a while now since dance music stopped suddenly and also it’s been a while since the Exium duo released stuff here at home. 

Héctor and Valentin have been busy in their studios during these uncertain days, extracting the best out of their minds and tools to create this four tracker.
If you are familiar with the Exium sound over the years, you can feel here a sort of comeback to their primitive roots.
The sound is harsher, more violent, the components are a chosen few but well standing in the mix, the rhythms are broken and twisted. Nothing easy for the ear.

If you push the boundaries like they do, there’s still hope in techno as a constantly new and risky journey. Totally the opposite of cloning what is done.

Ascendo relies on a broken kick surrounded by industrial noises and distorted textures. Merciless

Atheris uses again nonlinear drums as the basement, spicing the recipe with overdriven pads and abstract sonic elements.

Cyclotron is the only 4/4 cut here. A random square wave distorted synth line is the leitmotiv, joined by different layers of sonic components creating an aggressive scfi joint.

Low Pressure Discharge closes the release returning to abstract breaks as foundation, with metallic industrial hits on top.

This release is not for the tuff ones or the soft minded. Tradition and futurism all in one.

Patricia Gurband debuts at Float Records with a well crafted 4-track EP called Hypnotized Time. The opening track, Hypnotized Time, is a mood swinger that takes you on a journey where two worlds melt in one. Invisible Dancer, the 2nd track has that ultimate loopy groove based structure with subtle percussion elements and goes on and on and on. The 3rd track, After 3AM, is based on a dazzling sleepy sequence with hefty beats. The closing track, Bouncer, has a modest groovy approach, but does show a bit of teeth around the 1 minute mark.

New full length album in our digital branch, this time signed by S.E.R.E.S. alter ego of Kike Pravda, who offers 12 fine exercises of advanced and mental techno. Sequence Start is the opener, classic old school NASA samples, abstract textures and ethereal sound design preparing for what comes next. Astro goes straight into action after the introduction. Elastic synth lines and sub heavy basement as starting point soon filled with additional percussive layers and textures sequences. Black Spiral follows, increasing intensity but preserving the elastic nature in the sound palette. Sound elements are wisely administered through the arrangement to create an evolving feeling. In Bending the Light the pressure is released a bit, going into deeper territories, the BPM range decreases and the approach is more mental. The five cut, Meteoroid, returns to busy action with continuous and hypnotic lines fighting against each other over a rolling groove. A merciless exercise. We are in the middle of the sound travel with Time Dilation, a well deserved rest after the previous intensity, returning to mentalism and scifi. Giant Void comes from the darkest frequencies of the spectrum and it’s progressively growing until all elements show up, mutating sequences are expertly arranged in an unpredictable way to keep the tension on the dancefloor as required. Number 8 is Ejecta, minimal and floaty at the same time, ideal to add tension on linear sets or to be used as a tool. Rings of Dust acts as a continuation to the previous track, gummy and textured. Spherical Surface slows down the pace, adds some micro drone action and keeps exploring the elastic and liquid side of mental techno as Tempest does. Closing the sound voyage, the beatles Magnetic Storm serves as an outro with the soundtrack of the unmeasurable universe. A well crafted collection of advanced electronics for those who want to keep it spacey.
