Ubuntu is "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity." Derived from the profound Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity," it is often translated as "I am because we are," or "humanity towards others."

Ubuntu is an indigenous philosophy from Africa grounded in humanistic values and principles of solidarity, kindness, cooperation, respect, and compassion.

The original song "Ubuntu" composed by @kora-musique & @wuachuma gave life to a short film offering a mesmerizing visual narrative set against the breathtaking landscapes of West Africa in a coastal community of Ghana with local talent Roland Boakye acting as the main role alongside the involvement of a large amount of local participants who helped co-create a story of Ubuntu.

We are thankful for our talented friends from Québec Julian Thomas and Renaud Jacob who directed, filmed, and edited this cinematic journey of connection and evolution as the song became the soundtrack of a beautiful story of unity.

The video will be released on November 23, 2023.

We hope this project can help spread hope and remind us of our humanity and our interconnection.

We thank everyone who contributed to this project, especially the community of Ghana who participated in the film with so much authenticity.

Benjamin Frnkln - Body Talk Benjamin Frnkln is set to make his debut on Dantze with his new EP „Body Talk“! Although he has sang for a variety of artists in the past, „Body Talk“ will be Benjamin Frnkln’s first very own release. After having collaborated together in 2013, Niconé and Benjamin Frnkln have come full circle with Benjamin releasing his EP on Niconé’s label, Dantze. „Body Talk“ is an Afro House influenced track that includes deep and rhythmic drums, a catchy vocal and plenty of unique melodic sounds throughout the entire track. Apart from the original track, the EP also includes two remixes. Firstly, berlin-based DJ, producer and live performer Coss reworked the track adding a hypnotizing arp that steals the show. And secondly, label owner and electronic music scene icon Niconé adds his own touch to Benjamin’s track. Body Talk will be available on all major streaming platforms and for digital download from 22 December 2023.

PREMIERE: Andreas Engvall & The Machine Soul - When You See Me (Schallfeld Remix) [Hug Records]

"Lūžis" is my latest EP which combines musical elements from separate worlds. 

The title track (with the title meaning "Turning point" or "Fracture" in lithuanian) has multiple meanings for me. From chronological perspective it embarks a period of a certain breakthrough in my process of music making. From artistic perspective the track is about the awareness about our world slowly breaking into pieces. The latter idea is also being reflected on the cover art of this release.

The heartbeat of the track is a relentless, heavy rhythmic guitar riff which is accompanied by warm and groovy bass line that weaves throughout the composition and provides a solid base for the rest of the elements. Tension and atmosphere is brought by a prolonged swell lead melody that I've played and recorded live with an analog synthesiser. I look into this track as an experimental combination of several diverse musical influences that I listen to on a daily basis.

Release also contains "Nemigos mix" ("Insomnia mix" in lithuanian), which is an alternative take on the track. In the past I've had certain periods of insomnia. One night when I couldn't sleep I've got an idea to try and make a techno version of "Lūžis". This idea came fully incorporated - even before trying to write anything down I could already hear how this track sounds in it's final form. The problem was that I had just a little reference of what sound I was going for. Despite that, the next day I wrote and arranged this version with keeping the key elements from the original track, which were the guitar riff, synth swell lead and the chord progression. "Nemigos mix" has more energy which comes from the rumbling rhythm, synth bass, stabbing synth and white noise shots. It was certainly a fun experience trying something else.
