Fauzia is fast becoming one of London’s most in-demand DJs. The NTS resident, Young Turks affiliate and gal-dem DJ/producer is also co-founder of clubnight SHOOK, recently booking the likes of Kode9 and L U C Y. She’s part of a growing crop of forward-thinking radio talents with skills ranging from presenting to mixing to throwing parties, and recently showed off her mixing chops on a hefty Boiler Room set. Now Fauzia brings her high-energy club sounds to a Dummy mix, with on-the-ball selections and big blends. Footwork is a genre dear to her heart (she wrote recently that DJ Rashad’s ‘Double Cup’ was the reason she started DJing), so it’s fitting that she closes her mix on a Rashad cut. “This mix reflects where I’m at as a DJ,” Fauzia says, “it explores every aspect of club music from house to techno to footwork. Most importantly, it’s a reflection of me! And how I consume music.”

It isn’t often that we turnover the club to a single DJ for a night, but when the opportunity to host Turtle Bugg for an all-nighter came up, we did not think twice. With a penchant for all things funky, he took us on a world tour over the course of 7 hours (which this mix is a snippet of) touching on jazz, house, electro and more.

Currently residing in Detroit Mi, @kamekameha finds a way to cover a lot of ground regularly DJing solo and as a part or the DJ Duo/Label Soul 2 Seoul -  @Basement-Floor. He is also one of the minds behind @sublimatenyc and their Smangtasia campout.

Seattle-based CCL (@ccl-tuf) is a DJ, promoter and curator. They’re a founding member of TUF, a local collective focused on community-building and creating visibility for underrepresented artists in dance music. Known for bold musical choices, CCL blends a caleidoscope of rhythms, usually playing a mixture of deep, immersive breaks, electro, techno and bass music. Ahead of their Unsound Kraków 2019, CCL has prepared an exciting mix full of deep sounds, bookended by experimental Polish music from past and present. Enjoy!

We start the year with an exclusive premiere! @Slugabed has a new release out next week and he's given me the chance to share one of the tracks with you. It's called 'root rot' and it's a wonderful blend of blissful melody and strange, distorted noise. It's hip-hop, but it's not. It's weird but beautiful. You can imagine the ghostly creatures on the release's cover dancing to it. He also answered some questions from me. I hope you enjoy reading his words and listening to his music.
