MNMT 301 : Simone Bauer

Als Teil des Dresdner Kollektivs Palais Palett - mittlerweile im Club Objekt klein a beheimatet - prägt Emil aka Harry Hancock seit 2015 den House- und Discosound seiner Stadt. Über Umwege hat es ihn mittlerweile in die kreative Hochburg Berlins verschlagen. Unser gemeinsamer, kreativer Austausch fand bei der 2018er Veranstaltung der aenigma-Reihe unseres Mitgründers Monsieur Hibou seinen Ursprung. Hieraus entwickelte sich unter anderem Harry Hancocks Remix des durch aethernal in 2020 veröffentlichten Ambient-Outros ''Among the Clouds" der Lucid Echoes EP. Wir freuen uns sehr, Harry Hancock als ersten Gast unserer Podcastreihe begrüßen zu dürfen.  Er eröffnet die Reise mit sphärischen Synthmodulationen, psychedelischen Impressionen & nuancierten Einsätzen diverser Acid-Lines. Dabei dringt er in die weiten Tiefen der warmen und dezenten Sektionen des House- und Techno-Genres vor. Trotz pandemiebedingter Abstinenz besticht er durch die entfachte Leidenschaft für das Tanzen und Fallen lassen.  Dabei ist sein Mix weniger konzeptuell, sondern als impulsiv-spontan gemixte Jam zu verstehen; immer mit Blick auf die lang und sehnsüchtig erwarteten, ekstatischen Clubnächte.

As part of the Dresden collective Palais Palett - now based at the club Objekt klein a - Emil aka Harry Hancock has been shaping the house and disco sound of his city since 2015. Via detours, he has now moved to the creative stronghold of Berlin. Our common creative exchange found its origin at the 2018 event of the aenigma series of our co-founder Monsieur Hibou. This evolved into, among other things, Harry Hancock's remix of the ambient outro ''Among the Clouds" from the Lucid Echoes EP released by aethernal in 2020. We are very happy to welcome Harry Hancock as the first guest of our podcast series.  He opens the journey with spherical synth modulations, psychedelic impressions & nuanced uses of various acid lines. In doing so, he penetrates the vast depths of the warm and subtle sections of the house and techno genres. Despite pandemic abstinence he captivates with the ignited passion for dancing and letting fall.  Thereby his mix is less conceptual, but to be understood as an impulsive-spontaneous mixed jam; always with a view to the long and eagerly awaited, ecstatic club nights.

Vanta(he/him)

Originally from a metalcore and hardcore background he has always enjoyed electronic and experimental music. Heavily influenced by this and the techno scene in Leipzig, Germany with its well known Institut fuer Zukunft his focus are impulsive rhythms, dissociative sounds and dark and eerie atmospheres. As a founding member of PVC he is also co-organising raves in clubs and woods around the Leipzig area. For a few years now he has been exploring the world of producing. Releasing Tracks on Labels like Aarden Records, Crescent London, Further Sessions, Proselytizing or Charybdis and various Podcasts he is establishing himself in the scene always seeking to refine his sound.

We are very happy to welcome Vanta as the second creative head in our mixtape series.

‘Melankoli’ by Lulu Rouge is walking on the stairway to dub-heaven. Maybe they’re supposed to ‘Walk with the Dreamers’ and chill out just like Ambala and Laid Back.

To make an end of this quality compilation is the pop-darling Aura with ‘I Will Love You Monday’ and the hyper-pop-duo Perfect Plush with ‘Somebody Knows’. Oh... and to actually round the compilation off is Doctr leaving one dancing to ‘Tropique’.

Podcast No 49 comes from @Volster who has gradually become one of the most noted figures of the Croatian electronic scene, leaving his signature through production, DJing, event organisation and running a label imprint: @secessionrec.

The main subculture Marko was positively exposed to in the 90’s was techno, a style he has been practising for almost two decades now. As he was performing within and outside the Croatian borders, Volster gradually started experimenting and developing his signature textured sound leading him to sing and publish his work across his own labels and others such as Edit Select, @Vakum-Records and @northallsenrecords to name a few.

To this day, Volster has performed all across Europe ranging from clubs to festivals like Dimensions Festival and Modem Festival which brought him to his most notable appearance and debut performance at @berghain in September 2019.

CELLAR DOOR presents a little project of that aims to connect two souls on a spiritual journey. From time to time, there is going to be a mix that will result from a collaboration of two artists separated by heaps of miles.

With Leshrac we welcome an extraordinary creative mind in our podcast series. For more than a decade, he has enriched the music landscape with his very own sound. He manages to dissolve the borders of different genres into thin air without losing his own course. He gathered experience by participating in numerous projects. Thus he played as bassist, guitarist or groovebox operator in various band constellations. At the age of 19 he developed his enthusiasm for Reason - the seemingly endless possibilities opened the world of his very own electronic music. His productions became more and more sophisticated and mature over the last years. Not really surprising, because Leshrac dives so deep into sound synthesis that he combines his knowledge of electrical engineering and sound and without further ado develops and builds his own synthesizer. With lots of patience and love, he shares his knowledge with his community. When it comes to musical questions or repairing broken hardware, he always has an open ear. At the moment he can be heard as a project member of the live act Artpara with Subkutan.  Furthermore he maintains the project EXIL with our common friend R.egen. With every Full Moon or solar eclips I will present a new artist which I highly admire, respect and who emodies and understands the dark, ambient and hypnotic side of techno.⁠

The Full Moon is a time of blossom and highlights.⁠
The Full Moon equals the spiritual and energetic culmination.⁠
⁠
When the Full Moon has passed, the Waning Moon phase begins.⁠ This is the time to let go what no longer serves you.⁠
⁠
This week's Full Moon is in the optimistic sign of Sagittarius. Typical Sagittarius themes are enthusiasm, expansion, philosophy, travel; everything is about enlarging. Expanding your knowledge, your dreams, your opportunities, your experiences. And the Sagittarius does all this with a philosophical edge. This sign is looking for the deeper meaning behind everything that happens. 

That all sounds positive, but then there is the influence of Gemini (the sign the sun is in) that can make these days just a little more difficult. Sagittarius and Gemini are true opposites. Where Sagittarius philosophizes about the (distant) future, Gemini is present in the here and now.

As a result, you may find yourself in a kind of inner conflict. What do I want to focus on? Is that on the here and now? 
And after that? Think big and imagine that anything is possible. Be inspired by anything that comes to mind then.
